Custom Exams
Custom Exams To access the Custom Exam Editor, select the My School tab from your LabSim Home screen and click the Custom Exams tab. To create a new exam, click the Add button or to edit an existing exam, click the name of the desired exam. You may also Archive or Delete existing exams from this screen. In the exam editor, both simulations and exam questions are displayed in the selection area. Select the questions you want to include by browsing through the course outline and clicking Add [+] for any question you want to include:
You can preview your exam by clicking the View Questions button under the Review tab: When you are finished selecting questions, click the Done button to save the exam.
Scheduling Exams Students must be scheduled before they can take the exam. The Exam Scheduling feature can be accessed two ways: 1) From your My Classes tab, select the desired Class Name, click the Custom Exams tab and press Schedule. Select from the list of desired exams. 2) From your My School tab, select Custom Exams. To the right of the desired exam name, select Actions, then Schedule Exam, then select the Class Name for which you want to schedule the exam. To manually schedule the date and time of the exam, select the desired student(s) and press Schedule.
Select the Date Range start and end times. You can also password protect the test. Click Done to save. Once the exam is scheduled, students will see the upcoming date/time of the test. You can automatically schedule all students in your class by selecting the Automatic tab and checking the Enable automatic exam scheduling. This feature will automatically schedule students enrolled in this class to take this exam the next time they log in. The exam availability time window is 12 months from the time they are scheduled.
Taking Exams Students use a web browser to log on to their accounts and take scheduled exams. Students see upcoming exams under their respective class. See Taking Exams for additional information. Students will see that they have 1 Assignment when the date/time occur for the student to take the test.
When the student clicks on the Assignment, they will be able to see exam details as well as Start Exam. Exam Results Once students have finished their exams, their scores are immediately available for the instructor. Under the Custom Exams tab, click Actions for the desired exam, and select View Reports. The Individual Scores tab will list the students alphabetically by last name. Initially you can identify which students passed or failed the exam and the associated times
