1 Secure Software and Installation Key INSTALLATION KEY You will need access to the e-mail that was sent to you under the title Getting Started. If you have your 4.3 iqsystem installation, go on to Step 2 Determine Minimum System Requirements otherwise, complete the following 4 steps to obtain the software. Verify this in the install screen * Microsoft Office XP exams cannot be installed on Microsoft Windows 98 * The following are not supported at this time: AOL Internet service provider Macintosh workstations Microsoft Office Business and Standard Editions Microsoft Windows ME Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Microsoft Windows NT Win Modems Terminal Server 1
3 TEST ONLY Choose your Configuration TEST ANDONLY TEST STANDALONE (Both Administration and Testing software on One Workstation) The Standalone configuration will be used if one Workstation will be used to perform Administrative Tasks and to give Exams. If this is the configuration you will use go to Step 4 Standalone for software installation instructions. TEST NETWORKED The Networked TEST configuration ONLYwill be used for sites that have one Administration Workstation and one or more Testing Workstations networked together. The Administration Workstation is the only workstation that will be required to connect to the Internet. You will not be able to administer exams from the Administration Workstation. You can connect up to 10 Testing Workstations to one Administration Workstation. If this is the configuration you will use go to Step 4 Networked for software installation instructions. TEST NETWORKED + STANDALONE The Networked plus Standalone configuration will be used for sites that have the desire to give exams from the Administration Workstation and have one or more Testing Workstations networked together with it for testing purposes. The Administration Workstation is the only workstation that will be required to connect to the Internet. You will be able to administer exams from the Administration Workstation. You can connect up to 10 Testing Workstations to one Administration Workstation. If this is the configuration you will use go to Step 4 Networked + Standalone for Software installation instructions. 2
4 Install Certiport iqsystem Software TEST ONLY Standalone INSTALL IQSYSTEM SOFTWARE 4.4 Site Administrator Setup TEST ONLY 4.1 Insert CD or Execute Install Software Provide the information as prompted. This will assign administrative privileges for the iqsystem. You may want to record this information for future reference. 4.2 Select Standalone Workstation Software TEST TEST 4.3 iqsystem Installation Key and Password Entry Enter your Installation Key and Password. You selected these during your testing center registration, and they were e-mailed to 4.5 Assign an Administrative Workstation Name you under the subject Getting Started. They must be entered accurately, or the software will not run properly. If you cannot locate your key and password, contact Customer Support and a new password will be assigned. 4.6 Click Next to complete install 4.7 Restart the machine. This is the last prompt during installation. 4.8 The iqsystem software has been installed. Move on to 3
TEST ONLY 4 Install Certiport iqsystem Software Networked TEST INSTALL IQSYSTEM SOFTWARE 4.4 Site Administrator Setup 4.1 Insert CD or Execute Install Software Provide the information as prompted. This will assign administrative privileges for the iqsystem. You may want to record this information for future reference. 4.2 Select Administrative Workstation Software 4.3 iqsystem Installation Key and Password Entry Enter your Installation Key and Password. You selected these during your testing center registration, and they were e-mailed to 4.5 Assign an Administrative Workstation Name you under the subject Getting Started. They must be entered accurately, or the AND software will not run properly. If you cannot TEST ONLY locate your key and password, contact Customer Support and a new password will be assigned. 4.6 Click Next to complete install 4.7 Restart the machine. This is the last prompt during installation 4.8 The iqsystem software has been installed. Move on to Step 5 Install Exam Software on page 11 TEST INSTALL THE SOFTWARE 4.11 Select the database location This is the Administrative Workstation name from Step 4.5. This name should be visible in the browser window. 4.9 Insert CD or Execute Install Software. 4.10 Select Testing Workstation Software 4.12 Click Next to complete install. 4.13 Restart the machine. This is the last prompt during installation. 4.14 Repeat the process for steps 4.9 4.13 for each test machine 4.15 The iqsystem software has now been installed. Move on to 4

Move on to INSTALL THE SOFTWARE 4.11 Select the database location This is the Administrative Workstation name from Step 4.5. This name should be visible in the browser window. TEST 4.9 Insert CD or Execute Install Software. 4.10 Select Testing Workstation Software 4.12 Click Next to complete install. 4.13 Restart the machine. This is the last prompt during installation. 4.14 Repeat the process for steps 4.9 4.13 for each test machine 4.15 The iqsystem software has now been installed. Move on to 5
5 Install Exam Software INSTALL EXAM SOFTWARE Perform this step on each machine that will be used to administer exams. 5.1 Initiate the exam installation Double click the desired exam package Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Office XP, IC 3, or WOW. 5.2 Review Exam Listing Being Installed The exam install must match the Office version on the machine, i.e.; if Microsoft Office XP is installed, you cannot install the Microsoft Office 2000 exams. Verify this in the install screen. 5.3 Click Next to complete install. 5.4 Perform the iqsystem update for Administrative Workstation software. 6 Run the Rehearsal Exam RUN CONFIG TEST Perform this step on each machine that will be used to administer exams. The Config test is intended to allow you to insure the exams will run correctly. It will run for 1-6 minutes, it does not require inventory and will not be scored. Run the Config Test from the Testing Workstation Application Console (Start/Programs/IQsystem) on any testing station. Go to the Exam Selection Screen, near the bottom of the screen you will see a box next to Config Test. Place a check in it, a window will appear, enter you administrative user name and password. Click ok and then select the exam from the drop down menu you would like to test. Enter your administrative user name and password again at the bottom and click next.
