63230-504-200A4 PowerLogic Tenant Metering Software Windows Vista Configurations Automatic Updates Sleep Mode Three configuration settings for Windows Vista users should be considered when installing TMS. The default value for Windows Vista updates is set to automatic. Upon receiving updates, your computer will automatically restart after the updates are processed. To avoid automatic computer restarts (and potential data loss), set the Windows Update feature to prompt you before accepting updates. Making this change will allow you determine the appropriate time to apply updates. To set the Windows Update feature, complete these steps: 1. Click Start > All Programs. 2. Click Windows Update. 3. Should you receive any Windows messages noting a conflict or other UAC issues, you can disable UAC, install TMS, and then re-enable the UAC feature. To disable UAC, complete the following steps: 1. Select Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control on or off. 2. Remove the check from the check box located beside Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer and click OK. 3. Click Restart Now to restart your computer.
