V-500 Series: taking care of all your needs The enhanced V-500 Series units from Thermo King a more efficient range of vehicle-powered temperature control units for 3 metre to 6.5 metre rigid trucks hauling fresh or frozen loads, delivering top performance, reliability and easeof-use. These units also allow users to increase energy efficiency and sustainability. The enhanced V-500 Series range delivers increased performance more efficiently. A small all-aluminium condenser coil and a more compact and lighter system brings significant life cycle benefits. Decreased refrigerant volume reduces expense (especially as refrigerant prices continue to increase), allows faster charging of the system with reduced labour cost and creates less environmental impact. The enhanced V-500 Series also increases system heating capacity in the same unit footprint attaining best energy efficiency. The efficiencies result in a significant reduction in carbon footprint and less environmental impact. The range has been designed to ease maintenance and service operations and to improve aesthetic effect with plastic skins increasing resistance to corrosion. The units are available in single and multiple-temperature versions and are all equipped with the most advanced components used in the previous range, such as the DSR Controller. An all-aluminium condenser coil makes the enhanced V-500 Series more efficient and sustainable. 3 The V-500 as well as the rest of the V-Series range of units have been designed to be used in a variety of applications in the distribution segment, both single-temperature and multi ple-temperature. Optimised performance Enhanced heating system Improved heating capacity to 3,600 W at the following conditions: +18ºC/-18ºC and 2,400 rpm Semi-hermetic reciprocating standby compressor Capacity in standby is 85% to 95% of the road capacity under any working conditions for maximum protection of the load at any time. Low fuel consumption and running costs V-500 units offer 3 condenser fan speeds to automatically match the cooling needs of varying intensity levels. Fans are adjusted according to the pressures read within the refrigeration circuit to 3 different positions: High speed, low speed and null mode. In this way performance is optimised according to the capacity demand, thereby reducing the fuel consumption of the truck. For this reason, capacity delivered is matched to the demand. When working in steady or low demanding conditions, the condenser fans will run at low speed or stop as required. On the other hand, in extreme and demanding conditions the condenser fans will run at high speed allowing a larger pull-down capacity. 5 Low noise level On road operation, the compressor is driven by the engine of the vehicle. As such, the noise from the unit is less than that of a self-powered unit. In electric standby operation, the sound power level varies by 6dbA depending on the condenser fan speed as described above.

The road compressor is powered by the vehicle s engine. In models with electric standby, the second compressor is powered by an electric motor.
