Spring 2016 U8-U10 Wintrust Illinois Cup

Schedule Schedules are posted here You will also see your schedule by logging in to your GotSoccer account and clicking Wintrust Community Bank Illinois Cup (U8-U10) and clicking the SCHEDULE TAB. Because of the growth and amount of teams in this event a few things to note in the schedule. 1.) There will be multiple champions in some age groups. If playing in a group of 5 teams, the group play points will determine a winner while groups of 4 will compete in a final match with another group. 2.) Due to the amount of fields and teams we are unable to accept any game change requests. If you have multiple teams, please be sure to have an assistant coach to help with any time conflicts. 3.) Field number are not final and WILL change prior to the tournament

Referees BOTH teams pay $18 in cash each to the center prior to the every match starting.

Rosters Teams are allowed to use any age eligible player from within their club that is registered with an Illinois Youth Soccer competitive league (YSSL, IWSL, CIYSL, SISL, or ILLOWA) or member recreational league for the Wintrust Illinois Cup TOURNAMENT ONLY PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED All players must have a US Youth Soccer/ IYSA league pass from and rostered thru one of the Illinois Youth Soccer member leagues listed above. Players from another club are NOT allowed to play for your team.

Rosters All players that will compete in the tournament must be entered into GotSoccer in the official roster no later than 5PM ON THURSDAY, MAY 5. The maximum number of players is fourteen (14) for U8-U9 and sixteen (16) for U10. Include every player even if a player may be missing the first game(s). Your roster FREEZES after your first match, NO ADDITIONS. To Enter Players Into Your Tournament Roster 1. Login to your team GotSoccer account 2. You will be taken to your team s Overview page. Roster is frozen after team's first match - players cannot be added after first match.

Gameday Check-In - IMPORTANT MAP TO NAPERVILLE POLO FIELDS Please instruct your parents NOT to drop players off at facility entrance. It causes a back-up in traffic, have them pull into the parking lot and find a spot before dropping off players. Teams should arrive no later than 45-minutes prior to their first match for check-in. At check-in your will need: 1.) Copy of your official IYSA affiliated league roster listing ALL players entered in your Illinois Cup roster on GotSoccer 2.) IL Youth Soccer affiliated league Player cards 3.) ALL PLAYERS At check-in all rosters and player cards will be checked and players will be given a wristband that MUST be worn all day. Refs will not be checking player cards at fields, wristbands will represent eligible players. PLAYERS MUST WEAR WRISTBANDS ALL DAY. NO WRISTBAND = NO PLAY.

End Of Game At the conclusion of the match the winning team (or home team if a draw) should collect score cards from center ref and bring them to the Illinois Youth Soccer tent.

Playing Rules Complete playing rules can be found here A few rules of note: 1. NO HEADING. US Soccer has banned heading for any player U11 and below. Bownet Goals For the U8-U10 Wintrust Illinois Cup, Illinois Youth Soccer will be using Bownet Goals. You can see an example of the goals we will be using here: http://bownet.net/products/66-x-18-soccer-goal We will be using these goals for a few reasons : 1. Player safety : The following two factors were taken into consideration and helped us in making our decision. a). The lack of a hard metal frame as on a standard goal ensures the safety of our youngest players from potential injuries, which could result from colliding with a goal post. b). This decision will also help those players, who are still learning the skills of the goalkeeping position. Not having solid frames will create a safer environment for the goalkeeper to play in the goal area. 2. Player Development : These Bownet goals fit the specific sizes in the US Soccer Player Development Mandates. The US Soccer Player Development Mandates also emphasize players U8-U10 focusing more on their technical skills with the ball at their feet. By not using goals that provide bounce-back off posts, the intention is that the players will focus on aim and taking good shots on goal.
