FAQs, for mchek 1. What is mchek? mchek is mobile payments service provided by mchek India Payment Systems along with Standard Chartered Bank. Using this service, customers can pay for goods and service from mchek affiliated merchants using their mobile phones 2. How does it work? mchek is a secured mobile payments system using which customers can pay for good and services using their mobile phones. To get the service and use customers will have to follow the steps mentioned below a. Download the mchek application by sending SMS as per the details given below 1. Airtel Customers- send message mchek to 543219 2. Customers on Other Mobile operators - mchek to 9731599090 Customer will receive the wap link to download the application and will have to choose the mchek PIN. The services are currently not available for CDMA ( Reliance & Tata Indicom ) customers b. Apply for mchek services through Standard Chartered Bank c. Standard Chartered Bank will process the customer request and issue the mchek card for the customer. The issuing of mchek card will be at the sole discretion of Standard Chartered Bank d. Once the card is issued, customer will be intimated for the issuance of the card through the message e. When the customer wants to pay for goods and services at any mchek affiliated merchant, customer will have to choose mchek as the payment option. f. Customer will have to provide the mobile number to the merchant to initiate the payment transaction g. Customers will receive the request for payment on their registered mobile numbers. To confirm the payment, customer will have to provide the mchek PIN and select Standard Chartered Bank as payment option. h. Customers will receive the payment status on their mobile phones 3. How do I apply for mchek? Currently, customers can apply for mchek through our Phone Banking 4. What is the transaction Limit? As per the RBI mandate, the total limit for transactions through mobile per customer per day is Rs.10,000 (Limit for funds transfer is restricted to Rs. 5,000 per day of this total limit). However, if the customer avails any other mobile payments service of the Bank, the limit will be reduced by that amount
5. Hoes does it reflect in my account? The transaction narration will reflect similar to any other merchant transaction carried out through your Debit card 6. How do I pay using mchek? To pay customers will have to select mchek as payment option and provide the mchek PIN for transaction confirmation 7. My transaction is getting declined? Transactions will get declined in following scenarios 1. The PIN you have provided is wrong 2. Amount you want to transact exceeds the transaction limit 3. Insufficient funds in your account 4. Technical problems 8. Where can I pay using mchek? You can use the mchek facility to pay at any mchek affiliated merchants. 11. Are the mchek transaction secure? All mchek transaction are validated through the PIN known only to you. This makes the transaction through mchek. Moreover, customers donot have to share the card number and any other details with the merchants so the customer data is also secured 12. What do I have do If I loose my phone? If you have lost your phone, please inform the Bank to block the card issued to you. You can call phone banking to block the card and request for a new card to be issued to you 13. what if my mobile number has changed If your mobile number has changed, you will not be able to use mchek facility on your phone. To use mchek facility, you will have to change the mobile number with Standard Chartered Bank and re-apply for the card 14. What if I have changed my handset? If have changed your handset, you will not be able to use mchek facility on your phone. To use mchek facility, you will have to re-apply for the mchek with Standard Chartered Bank 15. what are the charges applicable Currently there are no charges to customers for using the service. However the charges may be applicable for sending SMSs and accessing GPRS based on the network operator. Standard Chartered Bank currently doesnot charge for the services.
