Overview (see page 1) Things You Should Know (see page 1) Getting Started (see page 2) Licenses and Registration (see page 6) Usernames Passwords and Login (see page 7) BabyWare Imperial PC Software Overview Specifically designed for software-based programming, control and monitoring of the site, BabyWare is powerful, fast and user friendly no-keypad programming. All data is saved in the V32 main controller, bus modules, and in the PC. The V32 main controller is the database server, which makes recovery of data fast without the need of a PC server. Connection to the system can be done locally or remotely via GPRS (coming soon), or IP (fixed or dynamic using paradoxmyhome.com). Direct PC connection using a CAT-5 cable without a LAN/WAN, and without installing any drivers is also possible. Some features include: Multiple user connections (up to 8) Customizable access rights for PC users Powerful sort, search and print functions Complete backup utilities (manual and smart) Troubleshooting and support tools Floor plans (license required) Multi-account management (with contact information) Unlimited accounts based on hard drive space (each account can be 8MB) Locate feature: selected module's LED will flash or will be highlighted on the screen System Requirements Intel Pentium 4, 1.4GHz processor or faster Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, or 2000 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended) 150MB of available hard-disk space for installation (300MB recommended for multi-accounts and events) 1,280 x 1,024 video display with 32-bit color adapter Things You Should Know The following sections detail basic functions that can be performed throughout the software to help optimize efficiency and simply use of the software. Sorting Each column header can be sorted (low or high) by clicking on the header. In the example shown in Figure 1, clicking the Label header will sort the area labels in ascending or descending order. Searching Some column headers allow you to search the entire column. To do so, click the magnifying glass in the header, type the name you want to find in the space provided, and press Enter on your keyboard. Figure 1: Sort / Search Sort Search 1 BabyWare Quick Start

Multiple Selections To highlight or select a group of consecutive items, click the first item, then hold the Shift key and click the last item in the list (See Figure 2 on page 2). To highlight or select multiple items (inconsecutive), click the first item, then hold the Ctrl key and click the desired item (See Figure 3 on page 2). Repeat until all required items are selected. Apply to All When highlighting or selecting multiple items, changing a setting/option will apply it to all selected items. For example, in Figure 3, performing multiple selections by clicking in the Type column will enable you to change the type from Light to Custom for Light 1, Light 3, and Light 6. The change must be done in the cell of the last selected item in the list. Figure 2: Group Selections (consecutive) click here click here Figure 3: Group Selections (nonconsecutive) hold Ctrl key and click here hold Shift key and click here hold Ctrl key and click here Right Clicking Throughout software use right-click functions to view available functions for the selected item. When you right-click a highlighted item, any specific functions regarding the selected item will appear in a menu. We suggest you right click different items throughout to explore the possibilities with BabyWare. Figure 4: Right-Clicking Send When you make a change to a module s programming, you must click the Send button to save these changes in the V32 controller. When a change is made that needs to be sent, the Send button becomes red. Figure 5: Send Changes to V32 Controller Getting Started To get started with the BabyWare software you need to perform the following basic steps. Step 1: Install and Start BabyWare (see page 2) Step 2: Setup Accounts (see page 3) Step 3: Setup Communication Parameters (see page 3) Step 4: Connecting to Your Account (see page 6) Step 1: Install and Start BabyWare Although a CD is supplied with your new V32 controller. Future versions of the V32 controller (available Q2 2009) will support connections via built-in USB and via GPRS using optional PCS200 Communication Module (also available Q2 2009). 3 BabyWare Quick Start

TCP/IP (Direct Connect) Step Description 1 If you don t have a network (LAN/WAN), you can connect the V32 controller directly to a PC s Ethernet card without installing any drivers. Connect a CAT-5 cable between the V32 controller s ETHERNET port and the PC s Ethernet card. NOTE: On some computers you may need a crossover CAT-5 cable. 2 From the Accounts window, select the desired account, and click from the Connection Options column. 3 Select the TCP/IP radio button. 4 Select the IP Address radio button. Type the V32 controller s fixed IP address and port number. You can also click the search button to find the V32 controller on the local network. Click OK. V32 2 3 4 PC (direct connect) TCP/IP (Paradox DNS) ParadoxMyHome is a DNS (Domain Name System) service that enables the user/dealer to remotely access the V32 connected to an Internet Service Provider that uses dynamic IP addresses. A dynamic IP address is assigned automatically, and can change on a regular basis. ParadoxMyHome keeps track of these changes and will associate it to a Site ID (e.g. John house). Logging in to ParadoxMyHome also gives access to its IP Management Tools where you can: View status, edit information, temporarily deactivate an IP installation, view history of modifications, delete and restore IP installations, manage e-mail notifications, and manually register a module. When connecting for the first time you must perform all of the following steps and you must be on the network locally. A first time connection will not work if done remotely. Step Description 1 If you are have access to a LAN or WAN network connect the V32 controller to a wireless router. If not already done, setup a wireless router on your PC. See Router Setup on page 87. Connect a CAT-5 cable from the V32 controller ETHERNET port to the wireless router. NOTE: You can also use a wireless ethernet bridge.
