Exterior frame members shall be extruded aluminum clad up to.080 (not a light-weight.040 rolled stock like so many others use) in thickness, sealed at the corners and fastened with a lexan corner key system and stainless steel screws. FINISH The entire CHPD system shall be capped with extruded aluminum. The wall thicknesses shall exceed.080. All exterior clad painted parts shall be finished with a high solids polyester thermal setting No-Mar finish that requires minimal maintenance and resists scratches and surface damage better than most other finishes on the market. The finish shall meet or exceed the AAMA 260 Industry Standard which meets the 1000 hour salt spray test criteria. Standard colors are White, Cream, Sand, Bronze, and Green. White Cream Sand Bronze Green Printing limitations make accurate color duplication impossible. For exact color matching, please refer to actual color samples at your Monarch dealer. WEATHERSTRIPPING Weatherstripping shall be foam filled polyethylene factory installed on heads and jambs of both inswing and out-swing doors and at the bumper sill of the out-swing door for maximum protection from air and water infiltration. Sweeps are manufactured from a TPR (Thermo Plastic Rubber) material which has superior UV resistance and better memory retention and resistance to paint damage than soft vinyl weatherstrips and sweeps. Monarch s unique fixed panel Z-Flashing has proven itself over years of exposure to be one of the best designs to resist water penetration. Additional improvements have been made, utilizing similar principles, in the fixed panel vertical weatherstripping making water penetration virtually impossible. CLAD NAIL FIN Clad units will utilize fold-over nail fins to protect the clad finish from scratches and abrasions during shipping. Nail fins then lock into place for easy installation. SILL Sill shall be aluminum with an adjustable synthetic threshold. The sill shall be fully adjustable, with a range of over 1/4 to fine-tune every installation for maximum water and air protection. Sill finish options (in addition to aluminum) include brass or bronze anodized on standard 4-9/16" and 6-9/16 depth units. Inswing french doors with screen kits are not available with Brass or Bronze finish options. An ADA compliant handicapped sill is also mill finish only. (No screen options are available with the ADA sill. ADA sills are not available for 6-9/16" and larger jamb depths.) Screen sill tracks are standard on all multipanel door systems with standard sills. Note that 2 and panel French applications require an extension kit to house the second screen. This kit provides sufficient depth to allow for either a 4-9/16" or 6-9/16" installation. SCREENS Screens are optional on all multiple panel doors. They consist of a heavy extruded aluminum frame with charcoal fiberglass mesh. Screens shall be provided with adjustable rollers and shipped in separate cartons, color matched to the exterior cladding finish. Monarch s two panel French doors have, available as an option, a twin screen kit that allows the entire opening to be fully screened. This option must be specified at the time of the order, because a frame extension kit must be applied at the factory to accommodate the second screen. Quad French doors with two adjacent fixed panels utilize a byparting screen system that only requires one screen track. Not available on French doors with sidelites. CLAD BRICKMOULD Clad Brickmould is available as an option on all Clad in-swing and out-swing configurations. Note that on two or three-panel French in-swing doors with the screen extension kit applied to the frame, the Clad Brickmould option locks the frame into a 6-9/16" jamb depth. To achieve a 4-9/16" jamb depth with these two options, a 2" filler must be applied to the sheathing prior to mounting the door in the wall.
