By playing The National Lottery games you re supporting over 1,300 athletes as they prepare for Rio and beyond. This support ensures that GB s athletes receive world class support in the form of coaching, training facilities and medical support, as well as giving athletes the ability to train full time. To celebrate your support for our athletes The National Lottery and The Sun are giving you the chance to attend the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. There is 1 pair of tickets to be won in total across the promotional period. 2. How long does the Rio 2016 promotion run for? The promotion starts on Friday 15 th January 2016 at 00.01 and ends on Monday 15 th February 2016 at 23.59 3. What is a Valid Ticket? A Valid Ticket is a National Lottery ticket that contains a 12-digit Lotto Millionaire Raffle Number and is for a Lotto draw that takes between 9 th January 2016 and the 20 th February 2016 inclusive. 4. How do I enter the Rio 2016 Promotion? For a chance to participate in the Rio 2016 promotion, you must: a) Purchase a National Lottery ticket for a Lotto draw taking place on a Wednesday or Saturday between 9 th January 2016 and the 20 th February 2016 inclusive b) Purchase an edition of The Sun dated between 15 th January and 15 th February 2016 c) If you are already a Sun+ member login at thesun.co.uk/perks. Or if you are not a Sun+ member please follow steps (d) and (e) d) Enter The Sun code found on the back page of your Sun newspaper at thesun.co.uk/codes. e) Sign up to Paper Perks at www.thesun.co.uk/codes and enter your personal details (including your full name, email address, address, mobile number and date of birth). f) Enter the Lotto Raffle number from a Valid Ticket at www.thesun.co.uk/codes by no later than the end of the Entry Period (please see the table in paragraph 4 below for all Entry Periods) for that Draw. You can enter once during each Entry Period 5. Where can I find my 12-digit Millionaire Raffle number? Your Millionaire Raffle number is on your Lotto ticket and can be found beneath your normal Lotto line. See image for help where the Millionaire Raffle number is circled in red. 6. When are the applicable Lottos draws? To be able to enter the Rio 2016 promotional draw, you ll need to enter your 12 digit Millionaire Raffle number during the Entry Period for that Draw. Your Millionaire Raffle number must be taken from a Lotto ticket valid for a draw taking place on a Wednesday or a Saturday between 9 th January 2016 and the 20 th February 2016 inclusive. 7. Do I need to buy a copy of The Sun and a Lotto ticket to participate? In order for UK residents to play the Rio 2016 promotion, you will need to purchase a Lotto ticket from The National Lottery which is valid for a Lotto draw taking place between the 9 th January 2016 and the 20 th February 2016 inclusive and a copy of The Sun for a date between 15th January and 15th February 2016. If you are a resident of Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man you do not have to purchase a Lotto ticket or purchase a copy of The Sun to play. I am not a member of Sun+ does that mean I cannot enter? In order to take part in in the Rio 2016 promotion you will need a Sun+ Membership. It is free to register for this membership to gain access to Sun Paper Perks and take part in the Rio 2016 promotion. Residents of Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man do not have to be Sun+ members, but will need to enter here: www.thesun.co.uk/lottocomp 9. How many times can I enter? You can enter once during the promotional period. 10. Do I need an email address to enter? Yes, as part of the registration process for Sun Paper Perks you will need to provide an email address. 11. Do I need a mobile phone to enter? No, all winners will need to provide a contact telephone number, but this can be either a mobile or landline number. This is so we can contact winners. 12. Do I have to be over 18 to enter? Yes, you must be at least 18 years of age to enter. If you are over 16 you can buy a Lotto ticket, but you must be over 18 to play the Rio promotion 13. Who is eligible to enter? All permanent residents of the United Kingdom (including the Isle of Man) who are aged 18 or over. 14. I don t live in the UK, can I participate? No, we re sorry but you must be a UK, Northern Ireland or Isle of Man resident to play. 15. Which prizes are available to be won in the Rio promotion? There is a total of 1 pair of tickets to be won across the promotional period. The prize consists of:
- 1 x trip for two people to the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games for 6 nights (to take place sometime between 5th August and 21st August 2016); - return economy flights for two from a London airport to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) - 6 nights accommodation at a 4* centrally located hotel (to be decided by Camelot) in Rio de Janeiro based on 2 people sharing a twin room (twin or double) on a bed and breakfast basis - a pair of tickets to 5 Olympic Game events, to be selected by Camelot - basic travel insurance for the duration of the trip - return transfers from Rio de Janeiro airport to the hotel - 2,000 spending money There is no cash alternative. Prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable. 16. Can I choose the dates that I go to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games? The trip will take place at some point between the 5 th August 2016 and August 21 st 2016, exact dates will confirmed closer to the time (around the 31 st May 2016). Travel must be taken at the stated dates/times, no alternatives will be available. 17. Can I take a cash alternative instead? There is no cash alternative available for the Rio 2016 Promotion. The prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable. 18. Do I need a passport? Yes, winners and guests must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from the day they return to the UK after the trip. 19. Do I need a visa? The prize does not include any visas, you will need to check whether you need a visa to travel to Brazil and arrange accordingly if necessary. 20. Can I choose which airline and hotel I travel with/stay at? Prizes must be booked via the travel agency nominated by Camelot and once a booking has been confirmed no changes are permitted 21. I can no longer go, can I change the details so my friend/family member can go instead? Name changes to the flight seats once confirmed are not permitted. If a booking is cancelled no alternative tickets will be issued 22. Can I accrue frequent flyer points? Frequent flyer points cannot be accrued on the flight tickets. An upgrade cannot be purchased on these tickets with cash or frequent flyer points 23. Can I upgrade from economy to first/business class is I choose to pay the additional fee? An upgrade cannot be purchased on these tickets with cash or frequent flyer points 24. How will I know if I have won? If you are a winner a representative from The Sun will contact winners within 7 days of the draw closing, via the contact telephone number provided upon entry, to confirm your win. The Sun may also contact winners by email. Your first and last name will also be published on Sun Perks and will be visible to all entrants of the Promotion. Camelot may then contact winners to verify that you are a winner. Please remember that the fact that your name has been published does not guarantee
that you have won a prize we may ask you to provide your Lotto ticket or validation slip, or prove your place of residency. If we are unable to contact you within 7 days we also reserve the right to award the prize to a reserve winner. 25. I think I have won. What should I do? If you are a winner for one of the first four draws, a representative from The Sun will contact you within 7 days of each draw, via the contact telephone number provided upon entry, to confirm your win. News UK may also contact you by email if provided upon entry. You may also need to verify your ticket with Camelot. If a winner cannot be contacted within 7 days of initial contact we reserve the right to offer the prize to a reserve winner. Please note you will need to keep your corresponding winning Lotto ticket or validation slip in order for the prize money to be awarded. We also reserve the right to check that you are a resident of the UK (or Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man if you entered through the free entry route 26. I have won. Can I remain anonymous? No. Your first and last name will also be published on Sun Perks and will be visible to all entrants of the Promotion. We may ask you to participate in publicity, but this will be at your choice. You will not be paid any extra if you agree to participate in publicity. 27. I entered using a raffle number from a syndicate ticket and it has won. What happens now? If the Ticket was purchased on behalf of a syndicate, it is the responsibility of the members of the syndicate to decide who will submit the 12-digit Raffle number and how the prize won may be allocated. Camelot will award any prize won only to the person whose details have been used for entry. 28. I won on the main Lotto draw and have already given my Lotto ticket to my retailer to claim my prize. I have now won on the Rio promotion, what should I do? The retailer will have handed you a printed validation slip with your winnings from the main Lotto draw. Keep hold of this validation slip as it can be used instead of your ticket to claim your Rio 2016 prize. 29. I can t find my Lotto ticket/validation slip and I have won, what happens now? Your Lotto ticket or validation slip may be required in order for you to receive your prize. If we ask to see you your ticket or your validation slip, and you are unable to produce either of these then we may not be able to give you your prize and a reserve winner will be contacted. 30. How and when will I receive my prize? The Sun will be in contact and your details will be passed onto a 3 rd Party supplier of Camelot who will arrange your prize. Your official travel documentation will be sent to you before departure. 31. How can I obtain a full list of winners from this Promotion? Who is running the Rio 2016 Promotion? The Sun will be responsible for receiving your raffle numbers and drawing the winning numbers.
