Chapter 1: 2015 Upgrade Exam Topics Overview Introduction Vijeo Citect has undergone many changes between v5.0 and 2015 version. Vijeo Citect 2015 includes new features and developments that may impact the functionality of projects created using earlier releases. The CCSE Examination System requires all CCSEs to keep up to date with the changes in Vijeo Citect. The Vijeo Citect 2015 Upgrade exam is based around new features and developments that have been introduced in the latest 2015 release and additional questions from our 3 courses (Configuration, Architecture & Redundancy, Cicode) for refreshing the concepts which remain the same since the previous version of Vijeo Citect.. Note: Students are recommended to refer to Configuration, Architecture and Redundancy and Programming with Cicode 2015 Study Guides before undertaking Vijeo Citect Upgrade Exams. This Chapter Covers These New Topics for 2015: Upgrading General Upgrade Information Backup and Restore Included Projects Incremental Equipment Update Link a Genie to an Equipment Type Partial Association with Dynamic Associations Running Vijeo Citect as a Windows Service Extended Memory Mode Vijeo Citect 2015 - Configuration Exam 1-1

Upgrading Hardware Requirements The computer equipment may need to be upgraded to run version 2015, as the minimum hardware requirements have changed: Description Minimum Specification Processor Speed 2 cores @1.8 GHz for a server, or 2 cores @ 2GHz for a client Random Access 2 GB if running a SCADA client, or 4 GB if a Memory (RAM) SCADA server Available Disk Space 10 GB Graphics Adapter 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, with 64MB of (see note below) VRAM Description Recommended Specification or Higher Processor Intel Pentium Processor Speed 4 cores @2 GHz for a server Random Access 2 GB if running as a SCADA client, or 8 GB if Memory (RAM) running as a SCADA server Available Disk Space 100 GB Graphics Adapter 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, with 128MB of (see note below) VRAM Network 1 Gbps * Due to limitations in the Computer Setup Editor, Project Editor and several input forms in Vijeo Citect it is a requirement that screen resolution be set at 1024 by 768 pixels or higher. 1-2 Vijeo Citect 2015 - Configuration Exam

Upgrading (cont.) Software Requirements Vijeo Citect Component Minimum System Software All core components Vijeo Citect WebServer Project DBF Add-in for Excel Operating System One of the following: and Windows 8.1 Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (32 bit and 64 bit) Windows Server 2012 R2 Windows Server 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1 (32 bit or 64 bit) Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition with Service Pack 2 (32 bit and 64 bit) Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 (installed with Vijeo Citect if not already installed). Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 (x64) is required by Schneider Electric License Manager if using 64 bit Windows 7 Internet Explorer Version 7.0 or higher A Local Area Network (LAN) if it is needed for multiple clients to have access to a remote server. Extended memory mode can only be run on a 64 bit operating system. As for Vijeo Citect Server, with the addition of: A LAN running TCP/IP Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) As for All Core Components, and Microsoft Excel 2007 or later. Microsoft Excel 2013 (32 bit only) Note: The target drive for the Web Server software must use an NTFS file system, otherwise the required Windows security settings will not be available (that is, the Folder Properties dialog will not have a Security tab). If the computer is currently using a FAT/FAT32 system, ensure that the drive is converted to NTFS before installing the Web Server software. Vijeo Citect 2015 - Configuration Exam 1-1

General Upgrade Information The information below should be reviewed before upgrading your system and is not version specific. Earliest Legacy Version If doing an online upgrade use Citect ini parameter [LAN]EarliestLegacyVersion to specify the minimum legacy version from which the new version will accept connections. Password security If doing an online upgrade, wait until all Citect nodes have been upgraded to 2015 before changing your user passwords. For increased security it is recommended users change their password on a regular basis. Setup the Development Environment The existing version may have project configuration [INI] file settings that are related to the configuration and may be required to compile the project. The specific project configuration settings can be added to the new version using the Computer Setup Editor. The previous settings can be migrated to the new version by replacing the new configuration [INI] file with the previous version of the INI file. When doing this, the following parameters would then need to be updated / added to reflect the new installation settings in the previous configuration file. Any old settings that are no longer used are removed from the file when the Computer Setup Editor is used to save the file the first time.. Path: [CtEdit] Bin, [CtEdit] User, [CtEdit] Data, [CtEdit] Log, [CtEdit] Config These settings should be copied from the new version configuration file (INI) to the current / previous file. The paths need to be set to the product application directories for the new version installation. MsgRPC and ServerRPC server-side security A new field "Allow RPC" has been added to the Role form which determines if a user or group of users can perform remote MsgRPC or ServerRPC calls. On upgrading projects this field will be left blank which will raise the following compiler warning message. 'Allow RPC' permission is not defined (defaulting to FALSE) For existing users can continue to use MsgRPC and ServerRPC, you need to manually change the value of Allow RPC to TRUE. If these functions are used in your project, the roles that execute the functions will also need to have the permissions enabled. 1-2 Vijeo Citect 2015 - Upgrade Exam

Running Vijeo Citect as a Windows Service Vijeo Citect 2015 can be run as a Windows service, allowing for unattended operation of a system's servers. This offers the following benefits: Automated server operation on hardware startup Continuous server operation across multiple user logins. For example, you may want to operate Vijeo Citect as a distributed system across a number of server computers that are locked in a secure room. Each server could be configured to automatically run as a service on startup, meaning access to the server room is not necessary for normal system operation. Each server will also be able run continuously without the need for a user to log in. To run Vijeo Citect as a service, you need to configure the service named "Citect Runtime Manager" in Microsoft Management Console on each server computer.
