KEY HIGHLIGHTS IN COMPANY HISTORY 15 April 1993 Registration of Company as CHUNYU CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD 10 May 1993 Purchase of 11 acres of land in Nilai Industrial Estate, Nilai. Located in the fastest growing region in Malaysia and with close proximity to the new Kuala Lumpur International Airport (15km). This will be the Head Office and Fabrication Plant for CHUNYU. 7 June 1993 Ground Breaking ceremony at Nilai for construction of new facilities for Chunyu Construction Sdn Bhd by Chunyu Construction Sdn Bhd. Construction involving civil, structural reinforced concrete and structural steel works. 15 January 1994 Completion and the commencement of operations of the 10,000 sq.m. covered area fabrication plant in Nilai and commencement of first steel fabrication contract for Kajima Corporation for the Nippon Electric Glass Project Phase 3 of 2200 tons of plant structural steel. Fabrication through to complete installation was 3 months. 26 January 1994 Award of first major project by Malayawata Steel Berhad for their Steel Billet making plant to a value of RM33 million as the main general contractor inclusive of 1. Civil works, inclusive road and drainage 2. Reinforced Concrete Structures 25,000 cum 3. Structural Steel 6,500 tons 4. Architectural works This project had a time completion schedule of 12 months. And we successfully completed this project on time. 10 April 1995 Award by Toray Plastic (M) Sdn Bhd a wholly owned susidiary of Toray Group Japan the construction of ABS Plastic Plant as Main Contractor for piling, civil and structural work. Total contract value RM23 million includes: 1. Piling works 1,400 points 2. Reinfoced Concrete Structures 15,000 cum 3. Structural Steel 1,400 tons 4. Architectural works 5. Civil and external works The schedule of this project included substantial completion in 6 months from commencement of work and ready for mechanical installation with total completion 31 March 1996. In addition to the major projects mentioned earlier and essentially carried out in 1994, 1995 till date, we have also carried out the following meaningful construction and fabrication and installation works:
HENKEL OLEOCHEMICAL ( Banting, Selangor ) Main contractor for new Process Plant in Banting. Henkel Oleochemical has been a comeback client for Mr Mac Yin Wee. Henkel Oleochemical is a member of the Henkel Group of companies from Germany. Piling, Civil, Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel PHILLIP MORRIS - FLUOR DANIEL ( Oakland Industrial Estate, Negeri Sembilan) A proposed factory for tobacco processing. Phillip Morris carries the brand name Malboro. We were vendors to Fluor Daniel, USA a former client of Mr Mac Yin Wee. Piling, Civil and Reinforced Concrete EVERGREEN HEAVY INDUSTRIAL CORP (M) SDN BHD (Pasir Gudang, Johor) Former client of Mr Mac Yin Wee, a comeback client for their extension to machinery foundations at the existing Evergreen container manufacturing plant in Pasir Gudang, Johore Piling, Civil and Reinforced Concrete NIPPON ELECTRIC GLASS PHASE 4 & 5 - KAJIMA CORPORATION (Shah Alam, Selangor) Description: After the successfull completion of NEG Phase 3, Chunyu Construction had further success in securing the steel fabrication contract from Kajima Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd for NEG 4 of 2500 tons. While NEG 4 was ongoing, Nippon Electric Glass decided on NEG 5 and we were also successfull in obtaining NEG 5 from Kajima Corporation at 700 tons and have since successfully completed our allocated portion of work for the NEG project. Structural Steel Fabrication and Installation EASTERN KNITTERS (M) SDN BHD (Bayan Lepas, Penang) A comeback client of Mr Mac Yin Wee whose relationship with this textile plant goes back 25 years. NATIONAL THEATRE - IJM CORPORATION BHD (Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Perseketuan) This project involved difficult steel fabrication for the Malaysian National Theater in Kuala Lumpur. Structural Steel Fabrication December 1995 Formation of Chunyu Industries Sdn Bhd in conjunction with the companies decision to venture into manufacturing. First manufacturing venture was into Steel Door manufacturing under the brand name BREMEN. 1 June 1996 Award of piling, civil and structural works for Malaysian Sheet Glass Berhad (an associate company of Nippon Sheet Glass, Japan). Total contract sum RM23 million as main general contractor includes 1. Piling 2,400 points 2. Reinforced Concrete 12,000 cum 3. Structural Steel 2,500 tons This project is currently in progress and mechanical installation by others with substancial completion by the end of January 1997 and final completion in April 1997. 7 November 1996 Award of Piling Works and Site Preperation works for the New Proposed Polyester Film Project for TORAY, Japan to a value of RM10 million including driving of 3000 piling points in 5 months. 15 December 1996 Awarded the Substructure and Superstructure works for the Polyester Film Project in Penang for TORAY, Japan. The scope of work to a value of RM33.8 million to be completed in April 1998 includes: 1. Reinforced Concrete 30,000 cum 2. Formwork 70,000 sqm 3. Steel Structure 2,000 tons 18 May 1998 Awarded the RM28 million construction of Fertilizer Terminal for West Fertilizer Terminal Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Barber International Ltd, Norway.
