3 Welcome to Nomura Nomura Singapore Limited ("Nomura Singapore") was incorporated in Singapore in 1972 as Singapore Nomura Merchant Banking Limited and in 1981, became a member of the Nomura Group. In 1989, it adopted its present name. The ultimate holding company of Nomura Singapore is Nomura Holdings, Inc. ("NHI"). NHI became a pure holding company, in October At that time, it changed its name from The Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. to NHI. NHI's shares are listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Singapore Stock Exchange, the Amsterdam Stock Exchange and, since December 2001, on the New York Stock Exchange. Nomura Singapore Limited Nomura Singapore is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore ("MAS"). Under the single licensing framework administered by the MAS by way of the Securities and Futures Act and the Financial Advisers Act, Nomura Singapore, as a merchant bank with an ACU Licence, is able to conduct its business as an exempt financial institution and exempt financial adviser without the need to hold separate licences. Nomura in Asia Major business lines are co-ordinated globally, but each operating entity within Asia is incorporated and regulated separately, engaging Nomura Singapore provides a full range of services to both institutional and private clients. It has built on the strengths of the Nomura Group to provide excellence to its clients. It has share capital of S$103 million.
