Technical Information Kieralon JET-B Conc. May 2000 Concentrated low-foaming detergent for textile processing - Prescouring, boiling off or bleaching in long liquors - High agitation continuous processes - Additive for finishing and pigment pad dyeing Kieralon JET-B Conc. features excellent oil removing properties. Recommended product for BASF Multiplus Options package. Colorants and Finishing Products

Nature Physical Form Storage Mixture of nonionic surfactants. Clear to opaque liquid. When stored correctly, in sealed containers, Kieralon JET-B Conc. has a shelf life of up to 12 months. Properties Solubility Kieralon JET-B Conc. can be stirred directly into the process liquor. ph Approximately 8 Specific Gravity Approximately 0.985 (8.2 lbs / gal) Viscosity Stability Action Approximately 100 cps At 70 F the product is stable in alkaline liquors up to a concentration of 20 ml/l NaOH 50%. Kieralon JET-B Conc., a concentrated detergent with excellent oil removal and wetting properties, permits virtually foam-free and thus trouble free processing, even under the extremely turbulent conditions encountered in jet and package dyeing machines. Kieralon JET-B Conc. is effective in acid, neutral and alkaline liquors. 2

Applications Kieralon JET-B Conc. can be successfully employed in all washing processes where there is strong liquor turbulence. Because of the concentration and efficiency of Kieralon JET-B Conc., significantly less of the product can be used compared to most conventional, single strength detergents. This can result in cost savings and reduction in product and drum handling. The product can be used in the following areas: - Prescouring, boiling off or bleaching in long liquors - Soaping off after dyeing and printing - High agitation continuous processes - Kieralon JET-B Conc. can also be used as a foam suppressant in liquors that contain surfactants. - Finish and pigment pad dyeing Multiplus Option Jet or Package Pre-scour Guideline recipes Pre-scouring for dye of cotton, polyester/cotton knitgoods in jets or yarn in package dyeing machines. 1.0 g/l Kieralon JET-B Conc. 1.5 g/l NaOH 50% or Soda Ash 2.0 g/l Dekol N-SN 20-40 minutes at 180 F Overflow or circulating rinse. Bleaching with hydrogen peroxide Bleaching of cotton knitgoods in jet or yarn in package dyeing machines. 1.0 g/l Kieralon JET-B Conc. 1.0 g/l Prestogen N-D or Prestogen N-S 1.0-4.0 g/l NaOH 50% 3.0-6.0 g/l Hydrogen Peroxide 50% 30-60 minutes at 212-230 F To facilitate the removal of the cotton impurities (pectinates, water-hardening substances) that can cause yellowing on drying or poor absorbency, an addition of 1.0 g/l Dekol N-SN is made at the end of the bleaching time, after which the goods are treated for a further 10 minutes. 3

Pre-Scouring Synthetic Fibers Washing polyester and polyamide goods in jet dyeing machines 0.25-1.0 g/l Kieralon JET-B Conc. 0.5-2.0 g/l Soda Ash 20-30 minutes at 140-180 F Spandex hosiery Prescouring of nylon / spandex hosiery garments in atmospheric or pressure rotary equipment. 0.5-3.0 g/l Kieralon JET-B Conc. 10-20 minutes at 120 F Wool blends Washing polyester/wool knitgoods in jet dyeing machines 0.3-1.0 g/l Kieralon JET-B Conc. ph 8-9 (ammonia or soda ash) 20-30 minutes at 120 F 20-40 minutes at 180 F Overflow or circulating rinse. Pigment Pad Dyeing Kieralon JET-B Conc. Is recommended for use in pigment pad dyeing. It excellent dispersing and emulsification properties help stabilize pad baths while controlling foam. Using Kieralon JET-B Conc. Eliminates the need for any other wetting, penetrating, or dispersing agents as well as defoamer or antifoam. Typical recipe: 2.0 g/l Kieralon JET-B Conc.
