Note 1: 4. If HDMI can t output audio to the external monitors, please check following limitations: A. EX623 VGA is NVIDIA NB9P GE1 chipset which doesn't have audio port, so HDMI can't transfer audio. Other models don't have the problem. The other way to confirm the HDMI audio function is you could find "High definition audio device" in device manger after driver installed if the model supports HDMI audio. B. Problem: HDMI sound output failed on some monitors. Root cause: Some HDMI TV s have a na ve resolu on that exceeds the maximum supported HD mode. For example, TVs with a native resolution of 1920x1200 exceed the maximum supported HD mode of 1920x1080. Applying this native mode results in display overscan which cannot be resized using the NVIDIA Control Panel since the mode is not an HD mode. To avoid this situation and provide a better user experience, the driver treats such TVs as a DVI monitor when applying the native mode. Because the driver does not treat the TV as an HDMI in this case, the HDMI audio is not used. Solution: Depends on the monitor resolution spec, there will be different behavior. Please use the monitor that meets Nvidia spec. C. If you install XP OS on X340, you have to manually set Default device to HDMI Device under Control Panel => Audio and sound Devices=> Audio option.
