Direction Finding SMARTSCAN MEWS The Man-portable EW System (MEWS) is a state-of-the-art, software-driven spectrum surveillance solution for communications monitoring and DF. Featuring L-3 TRL s innovative receiver technology, MEWS can detect, locate, exploit and display signals of interest to the Operator. With its modular, flexible design, MEWS benefits from low SWaP units that use software-defined radio architecture and modular hardware for maximum versatility. This approach enables a true multi-role capability that can be easily upgraded as target signals and digital processing techniques evolve. Operating independently or as part of a larger system, MEWS can be easily packed into a military backpack or can be quickly installed in vehicles, enabling rapid deployment and withdrawal. Each system can be re-programmed in the field and has an easy-to-use operator interface. Communications denial The SMARTSCAN signal interception systems incorporate configurable, responsive transmitters which are designed for use in Electronic Attack (EA) applications as well as training and deceptive simulation. Each system is adaptive to changing targets and ever-evolving intelligence requirements, providing a highly flexible and versatile solution. SMARTSCAN CES EA The Compact EW System for Electronic Attack can be used to disrupt target communications through a variety of search and jamming techniques. Also utilised as a deception device, the CES EA can simulate a variety of radio transmitters and has already achieved widespread success in the field. SMARTSCAN MCS EA The Modular Countermeasures Suite for Electronic Attack is a lightweight, reactive* jamming system that is able to scan a wide range of radio frequencies and target its jamming waveforms to the current signal environment. Jamming parameters can be defined threat-by-threat and the equipment can be re-programmed for a wide variety of operational requirements for maximum versatility. *The reactive version of MCS is subject to strict export regulations.
