eacc18 Online ACC Medical Certificate: Quick Reference Guide for Users of Medtech Evolution This quick reference guide has been created to assist you to navigate through the eacc18 online Medical Certificate. This guide is not a step by step instruction, but notes some of the areas of the online form that may not be intuitive. Support 1. BPAC Support Line (0800 633 236) for technical or login / registration issues. 2. ACC s Provider ebusiness (0800 222 994) for completing the form issues. 3. ACC Feedback email for issues or any ideas to enhance the user experience. Submitting a Test eacc18 If you are completing a test medical certificate you must use the test patient Mr ACC Test, DOB 1 May 2010, & claim number VF00455. Your Practice Administrator / Manager can set up this patient & claim if it has not been created in the system. Please do not use an NHI number. Practice Management System The eacc18 operates using Medtech Evolution version 1.5 or newer. Medtech automatically provide access to eacc18 as part of their solution. The user can access eacc18 from three separate locations; the user decides which is best for their working method: 1. Patient Manager Ribbon 2. Patient Tab Ribbon 3. Patient Record The icon is the same in all three locations. Note: The icon can be removed, based on role based access rights. If you can not find the ACC18 icon, your Practice Manager can reinstall it. The First Time The first time you select the icon you are presented with a BPAC log-in screen; enter your previously advised BPAC username & password. Within the Module List tick the ACC18 option to create a Favourite icon; this will be your shortcut for future use. eacc18 Quick Reference Guide Medtech Evolution v1.0 October 2014 Page 1 of 7
After selecting the icons (mentioned in the Getting Started section) the ACC Dashboard is displayed as shown below. This Dashboard shows the selected patient details along with a list of all accidents recorded in the PMS for the patient. To create a medical certificate, identify the accident that relates to the current consultation & click on the arrow to start. There is no separate option to modify a previously submitted medical certificate just create & submit a new one. Claim Number Information Button Select the i' for examples of expected claim number format. Change or Add To Patient Details From the Patient Details tab of the eacc18: Press F3 to open the patient manager & enter the new or changed details & click Ok Return to the Patient Details tab of the eacc18 & click the Refresh button at the bottom of the form Highlighting of Mandatory Fields A red overlay will highlight any mandatory fields to complete; this occurs throughout the form. Diagnosis updates or changes? If there is more than one diagnosis, select the principal diagnosis. If more than three diagnoses are required, use the Comments text field. If you need to change or add a diagnosis, then, from the Injury Details tab: Press F6 to open the Patient Manager, then click on Accident tab & double click on the highlighted eacc18 Quick Reference Guide Medtech Evolution v1.0 October 2014 Page 2 of 7
claim you required Now click on Injury Diagnosis tab & enter the new or changed diagnosis details & click Ok Return to the Injury Details tab of the eacc18 & click the Refresh button at the bottom of the form The Calendar Click & drag with your mouse to highlight the date range that is to apply to a restricted work period. The Fitness for Work buttons then activate so you can select one of the options. Notes: 1. Fit for Some Work 1 is used to record the period that the client is able to work with some restrictions. 2. Fit for Some Work 2 is used to record a subsequent period that the client is able to work with some restrictions (i.e. part of a graduated increase in hours / days or functional capacity). 3. Fully Unfit for Work is used to record a period that the client is unable to perform any work tasks. 4. A period of Fit for Some Work can be selected prior to a period of Fully Unfit for Work. 5. For scenarios where there is no restriction in terms of Fitness for Work, select the Full return to work Event button. 6. The term normal hours is used to cover the many scenarios that standard working hours can mean. 7. For those who like to print this page once it is completed; click the printer icon. To process the eacc18 you still need to complete the form & select the Submit button. Return To Work Assistance If your patient requires assistance, tick the Yes box beside the Return to work assistance required question, & then select the type of assistance required (please note: you can only select one type of assistance at any one time). If your patient does not require any return to work assistance at this time, tick the No box. stay at work / return to work Type of assistance Clinical review of patient s fitness for work needed then put in place the most appropriate type of assistance to support your patient to stay at or return to work. Examples of assistance are the Stay at Work service, some equipment, or help getting to & from work. You can use the Complications / assistance required field to type in any additional information about the type of assistance your patient needs. ACC action ACC will contact you to check that it is appropriate to refer your patient to an independent medical practitioner who will complete an assessment of the patient s fitness for work (to support you with assessing your patient s fitness for work). ACC will contact your patient & their employer regarding the referral. Further Detail For all Practitioners, at the bottom of the Fitness for Work page you can record information such as complications or the patient s need for assistance with their recovery. You can also request ACC to contact you, by ticking ACC to contact me tick box & advising a date & time for this to occur. Selecting the tick boxes invokes the red highlighting of mandatory fields to complete. The Declaration tick box must be ticked to submit an online ACC18. Note: The patient consent needs to be read by the patient so the Practitioner can complete the tick-box. The recommended approach is to have a physical copy of this patient consent available for the patient to read. The date of examination field auto populates to today s date. You may need to change this date to reflect the actual date of examination. If a practitioner is registered with BPAC as being located at one practice & then works at another practice, eacc18 will display the following field within the Declaration tab. recorded within the eacc18. Once the form is completed, select Submit. Note: is lost. Selecting the cross on the top right of the pop-up cancels the eacc18 & your input You will get a pop-up message acknowledging receipt by ACC of the claim. After selecting OK, you will be returned to the ACC Dashboard. Checking that your log-in is correct See the Welcome message on the ACC Dashboard. If this does not reflect your BPAC log-in name then select the not you? link to make the necessary alterations. Providing feedback Users can send ACC an email regards any issues they are having or any ideas to enhance the user experience. Multi-lingual Patient Information & Patient Declaration & Consent Downloadable from any patient but remain patient independent so a physical copy can be printed for any patient, any time. Available in Te Reo Maori, Chinese, (Traditional) Chinese, Hindi, Cook Island Maori, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Punjabi, Samoan, Spanish, Thai, Tongan, Vietnamese, as well as English. Parking an eacc18 When you park an eacc18, it is identifiable by the icon. Viewing all eacc18 s submitted To view all previous eacc18s submitted, click on the Messages link. The following screen will appear & will display the previous eacc18s. You can select between messages that you have sent or messages that the entire practice has sent, by clicking on the appropriate radio button. Viewing & Printing a copy of eacc18 s submitted within PMS Press F6 or go to Patient Manager, then Outbox.
