Page 3 / 14 1. GENERAL OVERVIEW 1.1 MIOS and the remote management MIOS designs, develops and manufactures remote modules and scada systems since more than thirty years. The company markets its products and its solutions itself and by a network of distributors and system integrators. The R & D Department designs products and solutions integrating the most advanced technologies and the most efficient components, while maintaining the reliability of marketed products and the ability of evolution of architectures. Our Philosophy is to develop products that are totally interoperable and open. 1.2 The MIOSBOX range The Miosbox range consists of a central compact unit Miosbox, supplemented by additional acquisition (I/O) and peripheral modules (e.g. TI), proposed in the MIOS s catalog "remote management products." The different products are available on request. Specific modules are also developed on demand to meet the specific expectations of our customers. Tools Setup and configuration so that the proposed software suites allow to respond to all applications of remote management, remote and generally to M2M applications as well as the issues of access control. 1.3 Synthesis of MIOSBOX s specificities 1.3.1 Features The Miosbox is built around an optimized hardware and software integration including: Windows XP Embedded Multi - communication ports Multitasking engine Integrated dynamic Configurator SQL Server database WEB server FTP server for a fast implementation and a very user- friendly operation.
Page 4 / 14 From simple monitoring unit to highly distributed architectures, the Miosbox is unique for its usability, flexibility, scalability, compatibility, interoperability, openness and standardization. The Miosbox is a real boost to design, develop, enhance, deploy, and operate your remote applications in the areas of: Safety and security Access control Warning and safety communications Control and automation Data traceability local and/or remote "Reporting" local and/or remote data back up Remote control The Miosbox remote management solution allows the technical information available to decision makers with the best Price/Performance ratio. This solution for remote management is easy to implement, to update and to maintain. 1.3.2 Performance Thanks to its powerful features the Miosbox enables: Manage up to 17 000 variables Archiving these variables over several weeks, months, years To perform calculations and automation To generate reports, balance sheets, files Trigger and send alarms Hosting and animate HTML pages to operate and display the data The performance of the Miosbox guarantees the possibility of change and the sustainability of technical installations.
Page 5 / 14 1.3.3 The technical characteristics The Miosbox has been developed around a hardened hardware architecture. It is totally fanless, there is a total absence of mechanical parts in motion, the hard disk is a last generation SLC SSD drive. All these settings greatly increase the lifetime of the product. The Miosbox has a hard and soft watchdog which oversees the implementation and provides a low level reset. It backs up data continuously on a SLC flash memory which has all the correction mechanisms (architecture ECC) Each Miosbox can ensure the management of 100 additional acquisition modules (modules I/O). 1.3.4 Software architecture The Miosbox integrates all software tools for installation, programming and easy deployment for your business applications.
