Curriculum Vitae Ms Jennifer Jeftha 60 Basson Drive, Glenvista, Johannesburg, Gauteng 2091 PO Box 692 Glenvista, 2058 Home: +27114325113 Cell: + (27)768892982 jenny.bip@gmail.com/satdevico@mweb.co.za EXECUTIVE PROFILE My professional career spans a period of +33 years. I graduated with a Diploma in Social Work from UWC (University of the Western Cape) in 1981 and practiced Social Work for about 10 years in Cape Town in various sectors. During this period I was fortunate to be the recipient of a scholarship to further my academic goals, resulting in me completing an MA in Sociology at the Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois, USA in 1988. Upon returning to SA I needed a career change which led to my entry into the Human Resource space, and a career spanning about 22 years in various sectors. Today, I am an accomplished HR Professional with demonstrated ability to strategically lead and manage HR in a number of organisations, primarily in the Petro-chemical sector (10 years at the Central Energy Fund (CEF) Pty Ltd and more recently in the financial sector at the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) (4½ years). I have a sound and credible track record in terms of delivering on HR strategy and have extensive experience among others in the area of Total Rewards, Remuneration Strategies and implementation, Benefits Management, HR Governance, HR Policy development and implementation, HR metrics and reporting, Talent Management, Risk Management and mitigation of risks, Budgeting and oversight of budgets, Performance Management and incentives. I resigned from the SARB at the end of February 2013 and since then I have chosen to pursue an independent consulting role focusing primarily on a range of HR issues to a select few organisations. With effect from August 2014 I was appointed to serve as an independent Remuneration Specialist at the Government Employee's Pension Fund (GEPF) and also as the Remco Chair. My mission is to continue serving organisations in a similar capacity, adding value in terms of my well rounded expert knowledge and maturity in the field of Human Resources and in particular Remuneration, Benefits and Incentive schemes, management and leadership. I believe that this is a logical progression in my professional journey and that in this way I can enrich the role that HR professionals play in terms of contributing to organisational goals and their own personal development. Remuneration remains a complex, onerous and highly emotive issue in organisations, and as a body representing the board, the remuneration committee plays an essential role in overseeing the quality of the remuneration information, disclosures and decisions of a company. The remuneration committee therefore plays a significant role in building both public trust and in making sustainable business decisions as it assists the board in ensuring that the remuneration policies of a company are in its long-term interests. To this end, I have the competence and capacity to be objective and independent in terms of the role that I can play. I also have the time and capacity to serve on such committees and would embrace further opportunities to serve as an independent Remco specialist/non-executive Director.
