Communication Strategy This is a highly interactive course between the instructor and the students. The instructor is encouraged to use the Basics of Student Project Management PowerPoint presentations to review each unit s key concepts. To use a flipped classroom approach, students must read each unit via the on- line course environment prior to classroom instructions. The instructor operates more as a coach and mentor to students as they complete their project assignments and deliverables. The classroom setting will invite an open, collaborative environment to encourage communication between students and the instructor, creating an atmosphere of creative thinking and teamwork. Course Requirements The student course materials are accessible online via the Edvance360 Learning Management System (LMS) accessible by the Internet. Each student receives a user ID and creates an unique password. Students must have access to a workstation or laptop in the classroom or at home. If not, classroom student manuals are available upon request to BES. Students create a User Profile in the LMS tool, which is used to store completed project documents, project assignments. Project documents are good reference materials for future work placement or college applications. A drop box feature allows students to electronically turn in course assignments to the instructor. Instructors use a classroom workstation with access to the Edvance360 LMS through the Internet. The classroom workstation must have the Microsoft PowerPoint application installed in order to access the course PowerPoint presentation. Brooke Education Services provides a Basics of Student Project Management Instructor s Guide manual to each course instructor. This manual offers instructor s tips and guidelines useful as each topic is taught to students. It also includes course quizzes and semester final exams with answer keys. TEA requires all course instructors to complete the Basics of Student Project Management - Teacher Certification Workshop (BSPM- TCW) training. Brooke Education Services facilitates this 4- day, or 32 hour, workshop to prepare instructors to administer the BSPM course.
