Exercise 1 Register New Patient Select Appointment Management from the Soarian Financials Home Page. Click Select Patient. Select Patient On the Soarian Financials Patient Locator, key in the patient s last name and click Search. This exercise assumes no patient has the same last name you entered. Therefore, The results field should be blank. Click Add New. The Schedule Appointment Summary screen displays. Enter required information (yellow background) as well as any additional information required by your department. Be sure to use information provided when adding data. Patient Name: Click Schedule. The Scheduling Integrated Booking Space displays Click the Patient Identifier link in the patient banner. Medical Record Number: Click Close on the Patient Identifiers dialog. Exercise 2 Schedule Single Activity Using Find On the Integrated Booking Space, select a Department from the drop down list. Note: Some activities have a linked pre-note. Do not use Cardiac Rehab, Hyperbaric, Pulmonary Rehab, Wound Care or Diabetes Education for this exercise. Tab down or click in the Activity field and select an Activity from the list. Click the, use ALT+A or press Enter to move the Activity to the Collection. Department: Activity: Enter any appointment data for the activity on the Appointment Data tab. You may have to resize the tabs by using the icons at the top right of the Book View. Note: The Order Physician cannot be changed. Any diagnoses codes that are entered will be viewable in Soarian Financials. The Encounter Reason is displayed in the Reason field, if valued in Soarian Financials. Exercise 7 Schedule Series Select Appointment Management from the Soarian Financials Home Page Click Select Patient. On the Soarian Financials Patient Locator, enter the patient that was registered in Exercise 21. Click Search. Select your patient in the Results section and click Select. The Recent Encounters dialog displays. At the bottom of the screen click the check box next to the treatment series that was created in Exercise 26, then click Add to Series. Click Schedule. The Soarian Scheduling Integrated Booking Space displays. Select the department used in Exercise 26 from the drop down. Select the DRESSINGCHG30 activity from the drop down for the Wound Care department or PHASE2 from the dropdown for the Caridac Rehab department. Department/Activity: Click the, use ALT+A or press Enter to move the Activity to the Collection. Step 5 The patient has preferences on when they would like the appointments scheduled. Click in the Search Criteria section to display the Patient Preferences dialog. Enter day or time preference for the patient and click OK. Notice the icon displays a red heart. Step 6 Click Find. Exercise 11 Patient Appointments Appointment Status Select Appointment Management from the Soarian Financials Home Page. Key in your patient information from Exercise 21. Click Search. Select your patient from the Results section. Click Select. The Soarian Scheduling Patient Appointments screen displays. In the blue box change the Appointment Status from Scheduled to Cancelled Click Go. The Patient Appointment screen displays with a list of the patient s cancelled appointments. Note: Cancelled appointments can be rescheduled. Change the Appointment Status from Cancelled to Pended. Click Go. The Patient Appointment screen displays with a list of the patient s pended appointments. Pended appointments will also appear on a Worklist until 7 days past the date of the intended appointment. Change the Appointment Status from Pended to Scheduled. Click Go. The Patient Appointments screen displays with a list of the patient s scheduled appointments. Exercise 12 Patient Appointments Filtering Appointments From the Soarian Scheduling Patient Appointments screen, ensure that you are viewing the appointments with a Scheduled appointment status. Click Filter List. The Filter Appointment List dialog displays. Select 1 or 2 items from the list to filter on Click OK. The Patient Appointment screen displays with the filters applied. Notice that the column headings you chose to filter on are orange. Click Remove Filter. The Patient Appointments screen displayed with all of the patient s scheduled appointment displayed. Exercise 13 Patient Appointments Change Activity From the Soarian Scheduling Patient Appointments screen, ensure you are viewing the patient s scheduled appointments. Select a non-recurring appointment from the list. Click Change Activity or right click and select from the menu. The Change Activity dialog displays. Select a Reason from the drop down. Select a new activity. Click OK. The Integrated Booking Space screen displays with the date, time and appointment data displayed in the search criteria. To complete the function, you will need a resource and an activity. Use the Department, Resource and Activity browsers to select each. Resource: Activity: Date/Time: Click Save. The Summary of Saved Appointments dialog displays. Step 5 Click Same Patient. The Integrated Booking Space displays. The Appointment Details dialog displays. This is the same dialog that displays when selecting View Appointment Details from the right click menu on the Integrated Booking Space Book View. Locate your patient on the worklist Click on the patient name hyperlink Select Check Patient In The Check In Summary form displays. Complete any required fields (bolded labels and yellow background) that have not been valued. Click Done. The Insurance screen displays. Optionally allocate insurance to this encounter. For this exercise, click Done. The Finish Check In dialog displays. Click Yes. The Print Artifacts screen displays. Click Done. The Appointments & Encounters Worklist displays. Step 5 Select Appointment Management from the Soarian Financials Home Page. Search for and select the patient that you just checked in the encounter for. The Recent Encounters dialog displays. Exercise 17 Complete Appointment Select Appointment Management from the Soarian Financials Home Page. The Integrated Booking Space displays. Click Resource Appointment tab. Exercise 32 Move Appointment to Other Resource From the Soarian Scheduling Integrated Booking Space, display a date that has at least one appointment scheduled on it. Click the Resource Code at the top of the column. Click Move Appointment to Other Resource. The Move Appointment to Other Resource dialog will display. By default, all appointments on the day will be selected. If you do not want to move all of the appointments, uncheck the ones you don t want to move. Key in or search for a Resource to move the appointments to. All ancillary resources have an additional room. For example, CTROOM1 has a CTROOM2, MRIROOM1 has an MRIROOM2. The Resource you are moving to must be in the same Resource Group as the Resource you are moving the appointment(s) from. Select a Reason code from the drop down. Click OK. The Integrated Booking Space Book View will display with the appointments moved to the new Resource. Click Close in the Soarian Scheduling frame to return to Soarian Financials. Note: Depending on why the appointments were being moved to another resource, the user would probably need to block the resource s schedule to prevent other appointments from being scheduled. Exercise 40 Revise Encounter Details On the Soarian Financials Home Page select Revise Encounter Details. The Soarian Financials patient locator displays. You can search for your patient by encounter number or click Find Patient to search by name. The Encounter Details screen displays. Notice that the Revise Encounter Date/Time button is grayed out. This is because there are appointments associated with this encounter. In order to revise the encounter date/time you would need to reschedule the appointment(s).
