Practical Summer 206 Application and Instructions (Please note that the start date is Summer Semester 206 with the Practical classes starting Fall 206) Admission Criteria: Must attend Information Session. Complete the general college application process. Indicate Pre as your major. Must be a High School graduate or GED recipient. Must be accepted as a Ridgewater College student. Complete the most current Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) standardized Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) prior to application deadlines. Meet all Accuplacer testing requirements. Application Instructions: Print, Complete and Submit the Practical (PN) program application. Applications will be accepted from December, 205 February, 206 for the Summer Semester 206. Applications will be located on the Ridgewater website www.ridgewater.edu on December, 205. You must complete all admission criteria listed above prior to submitting an application for the Program. Submit your official college transcripts to the Admissions Office. If you attended another MnSCU institution Ridgewater can obtain the transcripts for you at no cost. If you have attended private or out of state institutions, you will need to have an official transcript sent directly to the Admissions office of the campus you wish to attend. If your transcripts have already been evaluated and you received a DARS report, you do not need to have them evaluated again. The Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) provides you information about course requirements needed to complete your degree or program of study. TEAS Testing Information: As part of the application requirements for Fall 206 start, all applicants are required to complete the most current Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI), standardized Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) prior to application deadlines. Follow the links on the Ridgewater website for testing dates, TEAS registration and deadlines. www.ridgewater.edu Registration Process: Only students who have been accepted into the PN program are allowed to register for the nursing courses. (NURS prefix) Students may take any of the general education courses required in the PN program prior to applying to the PN program. There are a limited number of seats available. Students will be ranked by a combined Bonus Points and TEAS score. See below for point values and calculation. In the event of a tied combined total TEAS and Bonus Point score, the applicant with the highest TEAS science sub-score will advance in rank order for acceptance. If a further tie exists, the applicant with the highest TEAS math sub-score will advance in rank order for acceptance. If a student repeats a course, bonus points will be awarded for the highest grade. Bonus points will be awarded as follows: o Biology 20 Anatomy o Communication Studies 226 Interpersonal Communications o English 2 College Composition o Psychology 3 Introduction to Psychology o Medical Terminology A = 4 points B = 3 points C = point Bonus points for TEAS composite score divided by a factor of 0. o ex. Composite score of 64% = 6.4 bonus points Applicants who attempt to take the TEAS exam more than once; the best score will be submitted and used to calculate in the ranking process. If there are more applicants than can be accommodated into the available semesters and waitlist, a new application will need to be submitted prior to the next deadline.
