The sensor is completely passive which makes it ideal for areas where piezoelectric and piezoresistive accelerometers are not useable. Thes sensorsystem is 100% passive, including the optional fiber feedthrough and the connection to the electronic. The optical transmission can be up to 200m. This one-axis optical accelerometer system is use in applications such as extremely high voltages, severe electromagnetic and highly explosive gas atmospheres. The optical design ensures an excellent electrical insulation between the sensor head and the instrumentation, The sensorbody is made of noryl PPO with no metallic elements.
