LIFE CHANGING UPMC MEDICINE 3 RD ANNUAL UPMC SYMPOSIUM POTENTIALS OF STEREOTACTIC RADIOSURGERY AND STEREOTACTIC BODY RADIOTHERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF BRAIN, LUNG, PROSTATE AND LIVER CANCER SEPTEMBER 18TH, 2015 UPMC SAN PIETRO FBF - ADVANCED RADIOTHERAPY CENTER SAN PIETRO FATEBENEFRATELLI HOSPITAL, AUDITORIUM, VIA CASSIA 600, ROME, ITALY

3 RD ANNUAL UPMC SYMPOSIUM POTENTIALS OF STEREOTACTIC RADIOSURGERY AND STEREOTACTIC BODY RADIOTHERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF BRAIN, LUNG, PROSTATE AND LIVER CANCER

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE The 2015 Symposium aims to increase awareness and disseminate knowledge about the potential indications and techniques for intracranial radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiotherapy in a time when these treatments are quickly spreading in Europe. The event will be divided in four multidisciplinary sessions focused on several body systems: brain, lung, prostate and liver, ranging from the basics to more advanced concepts of radiosurgery and stereotactic radiotherapy, including technological challenges, patient safety, quality, state of the art and the future of their clinical applications. Practical demonstrations of CT simulation, treatment planning, quality control and motion analysis will be conducted on the morning of the next day, but the demonstrations are not CME accredited. A program such as this could be an opportunity to disseminate knowledge of these innovative treatment techniques for cancer patients in Europe and worldwide.
