Open Source Components The Rochade installation program uses these open source components: Apache Commons IO library - a library of utilities to assist with developing IO functionality (see http://www.apache.org/) Mozilla Rhino - JavaScript Implementation (see http://www.mozilla.org/rhino/) Apache Axis - Web Service Middleware (see http://ws.apache.org/axis/) The open source components included in Java API are not ASG products; therefore, ASG has no control over their licensing strategy. ASG cannot guarantee their availability, quality, or future maintenance and might need to replace them with other products. Installation Principles The Rochade installation process sets in place the software under the appropriate operating system (i.e., data and programs grouped by Rochade components) and carries out the basic configuration to prepare it for operation. The installation is composed of these phases: Server installation, which sets up the Rochade Server. ADM installation, which includes all tasks for importing Rochade components into the Rochade databases. It comprises creation of new databases as well as the import of Rochade components into the databases and configuration of the components. Application installation, which installs the data and programs for starting and executing the Rochade components on the local computer and configures the Rochade components there. To install Rochade components 1 Make sure that the Rochade Server is running, and check the server version and other installation prerequisites for the Rochade components. Also make sure that a valid backup of the databases is available. 2 Carry out the ADM installation if your distribution contains an installation directory setup\win. Only after you complete the ADM installation for the Rochade components can you begin to carry out the Application installation for them. 3

3 Carry out the Application installation. The Application installation provides a dialog for selecting the components that you want to install. If the components all have the status OK, either they are installed already on your local computer or you carried out step 3 before step 2 and the components have not been updated in the databases for this reason. 4 Carry out additional steps for starting the component, as required. For details, see the Readme files and other documentation for the component. For detailed installation instructions, see the ASG-Rochade Installation Guide. Installation under Windows The installation under Windows requires that Java 1.6 or later is installed. To start the installation 1 Log in to your computer as an administrator so you have all access rights. 2 On the installation disk, run the appropriate setup application: For Server installation, run.\server\win\disk1\setup.exe. For ADM or Application installation, run.\setup\win\<rochade_version>\disk1\setup.exe. Or Click Start All Programs <Rochade_Program_Folder> Rochade Setup to upgrade an existing installation of Rochade. Rochade setup under Windows includes both ADM and Application installation. On the Setup dialog, you can specify the installation that you want to run: Select the ADM Setup check box to carry out the ADM installation. Select the Application Setup check box to carry out the Application installation of the components under Windows directly after the ADM Setup. Microsoft system libraries may be updated during Rochade installation, then a system reboot is required. 4

Installation under UNIX To prepare for UNIX installation 1 Create a separate UNIX user account for Rochade. Installation under the root ID is possible, but ASG does not recommend it. 2 Mount the installation CD to an empty subdirectory. Or Copy all files from the installation directory or from the CD to the installation directory on your UNIX machine, using FTP or another suitable program. To start the installation On the installation disk, run the appropriate shell script: For Server installation, run sh./server/<system>/disk1/install.sh. For Application installation, run sh./setup/<system>/disk1/install.sh. Installation under z/os This section describes only the installation from the distribution directory or from CD. Each installation requires its own set of installation and target files. The names of the target files are comprised of a fixed part and a parametric dataset prefix called PFX?. The dataset prefix must not be longer than 19 characters, including separators. To load the files from the distribution directory or CD 1 Check these settings for FTP under Windows and z/os: The Windows environment variable TEMP must point to a directory for which you have write privileges. The ftp.exe program must be available in the program path list of the PATH variable. The FTP server must be running on the z/os machine. 2 Create a PO dataset PFX?.ROINST.CNTL with these file attributes under z/os: Record format: FB Record length: 80 5

Block length: 9040 Primary space: 1 CYL Secondary space: 1 CYL Directory: 2 BLK 3 Transfer the preparation jobs to the dataset PFX?.ROINST.CNTL. a b In Windows, open the command-line interface (i.e., command prompt). In the command-line interface, change to the distribution directory and start the batch file for the transfer: n2m_cntl.bat <user> <passwd> <hostname> <PFX?> where: <user> is the TSO user ID. <passwd> is the password for the TSO User ID. <hostname> is the name or IP address of the z/os machine. <PFX?> is the dataset prefix. 4 Edit the data pool of the library PFX?.ROINST.CNTL: a b Modify the JOB card according to your requirements. Replace the placeholders U???, V?????, and PFX? with the values that are valid for your Rochade installation. If you are using SMS for data administration, you must either adapt all DD instructions containing UNIT and VOLSER specifications U???, T???, and V????? in accordance with the required keywords for management classes, storage classes, and data classes, or delete specifications that are not required. 5 Under z/os, start the job PFX?.ROINST.CNTL(C1CREATE) with submit to create and allocate the PFX?.XMIT.LIB dataset for file transfer. 6 Transfer the XMIT files that contain the Rochade libraries to the library PFX?.XMIT.LIB. a b In Windows, open the command-line interface. In the command-line interface, change to the distribution directory and start the batch file for the transfer of the XMIT files: n2m_file.bat <user> <passwd> <hostname> <PFX?> 6

where the parameters have the same meaning as in step 3 on page 6. Execution of the batch file can take several minutes. 7 Under z/os, start the job PFX?.ROINST.CNTL(C2LOAD) with submit to install the Rochade data and load the libraries. To start the installation Enter this TSO command to start the installation: TSO EX 'PFX?.ROINST.REXX(ROINST)' Installation under BS2000 To load the data from the distribution directory or CD 1 Check these settings for FTP under Windows and BS2000: The Windows environment variable TEMP must point to a directory for which you have write privileges. The ftp.exe program must be available in the program path list of the PATH variable. The FTP server must be running on the BS2000 machine. 2 Transfer the installation files from the ROBS2A directory. a b In Windows, open the command-line interface (i.e., Command Prompt). In the command-line interface, change to the distribution directory and start the batch file for the transfer: n2b_robs2a.bat <user> <passwd> <account> <hostname> where: <user> is the BS2000 User ID. <passwd> is the password for the BS2000 User ID. <account> is the BS2000 account number. <hostname> is the name or IP address of the BS2000 machine. 3 Create the libraries under BS2000 via this procedure call: /CALL ROCHADE.DO.INSTALL.PREP 7

4 Transfer the libraries from the ROBS2B directory. a b In Windows, open the command-line interface. In the command-line interface, change to the distribution directory and start the batch file for the transfer: n2b_robs2b.bat <user> <passwd> <account> <hostname> where the parameters have the same meaning as in step 2 on page 7. Execution of the batch file can take several minutes. To start the installation Enter the appropriate command to start the installation: For new installations, enter /CALL ROCHADE.DO.INSTALL.NEU. For upgrade installations, enter /CALL ROCHADE.DO.INSTALL.UPD. Also check the information in the file ROCHADE.README.BS2000. Upgrade Installation It is possible to upgrade each of the installation phases (i.e., the Server, ADM, and Application installation phases). Further, an upgrade can address the structure of the databases, individual Rochade components in the databases and/or file systems, and the installation environment itself. ASG recommends that you back up your entire existing Rochade environment (i.e., directories, libraries, files, and databases) before carrying out an upgrade installation. This ensures that you can re-implement any company-specific changes that might be lost during the upgrade. User Authentication and Password Protection Some Rochade components require an administration database (ADB) to be active on the Rochade Server (e.g., components that use Rochade s role-based access control [RBAC]). The installation program activates an ADB if required. During the installation, you can select a database as ADB. The installation program will create user accounts in the ADB (e.g., an administrator account for the current user). 8

If you use Rochade-internal user authentication, you have these additional options: Setting a password: You can specify a password that will be set for the user accounts created during the ADB activation and for the administrator account. Deactivating password protection: Deactivates the password protection for all user accounts created during the ADB activation, for the administrator account, and for all other existing user accounts. Once the installation has finished, you can use Metability for setting individual passwords and for further user administration. Compatibility with Earlier Versions Version 7.60 Version 7.10 These changes have been made to the installation program for Rochade 7.60 and later: Under Windows, the Java installer is no longer part of the installation package. Java is an installation prerequisite. The installation program accepts 32-bit and 64-bit Java installations. If you have installed both, the installation program uses the 64-bit Java installation. If an ADB is activated during the installation, you now must specify the default password to be used for the accounts that are created during the activation. These changes have been made to the installation program for Rochade 7.10 and later: Under Windows Vista, the installation program requests on the Choose Application Data Location dialog that you select a directory in which Rochade will store data that can be altered by the user (e.g., initialization files and databases). For a default option, the installation suggests that you use a directory called Rochade in the Windows system directory for application data of all users (e.g., C:\ProgramData\Rochade). Under Windows 2000, Server 2003, and XP, these data are stored by default in subdirectories of C:\Program Files. The structure of the installation directories for Windows and UNIX has been changed (see Structure of the Installation Directory/Distribution Medium on page 2). Under Windows, you must select the appropriate phase (i.e., the ADM or Application installation phase) during the installation. Under Windows and UNIX, the installation program uses LOCALE as the default value for the CODEPAGE and CODEPAGE_FILES settings. 9

Known Issues If you are working under Windows Vista or Server 2008 with User Account Control (UAC), be advised that, under a user account, an application (e.g., the Rochade Server) is carried out with all its access tokens and administrative rights, which in particular, affects the creation of files (e.g., databases or log files of the Rochade Server). If you start the Rochade Server alternatively as a service or as a Windows application, you must ensure that your user account and the LOCAL SERVICE user account under which Windows starts services by default have the same access tokens and administrative rights. Otherwise, the Rochade Server might not be able to access files that were created under a different user account (e.g., databases and log files). Rochade Customer Support ASG provides support throughout the world to resolve questions or problems regarding installation, operation, or use of our products.
