HOW DOES AMR WORK? CLEVER SOFTWARE TO SHOW WHERE YOU CAN MAKE SAVINGS AMR uses wireless technology that allows remote communication between your meters and our secure online portal. A data logger is installed at your main water, gas and electricity meters; the data logger collects data every 15 minutes and this is sent to our online AMR portal. You simply log into the portal to find out everything you need to know about when and how your water, gas and electricity is being used. Your data is available to view in an easy to use dashboard that has been designed specifically for non-technical users. It uses your specific tariffs to calculate what the water, gas or electricity you use is costing you and what any wastage is costing you too. The software monitors your usage and understands your normal usage volumes. Alarms and notifications can be set to trigger when unusual consumption happens, so you know straight away if something is wrong from a large leak right through to unusual overnight consumption, which could be as simple as a battery replacement in a systemiser or the heating coming on too early in the morning. As well as fitting a data logger on your main utility meter, sub meters can be installed across your site to provide more targeted data to identify specific problem areas so that they can be rectified immediately.

FAQS WILL MY EXISTING METERS WORK WITH IT? All meters with a pulsed output are suitable for AMR and we will check this for you. If you don t have pulsed output water meters, we will replace your water meter for you (charge may apply). If you have an old gas and electric meter you ll need a meter exchange. The meter owner may apply a small charge for this but you ll recover these costs very quickly through the savings you ll make with AMR. HOW DO I PAY FOR AMR? Depending on the amount of meters you want to monitor, there are two payment options for AMR. Training is also included on how to get the best from our AMR software. Outright purchase: this is ideal for smaller sites or businesses with small numbers of meters to monitor (up to 25 meters). You pay a one-off upfront cost for the hardware with a small annual licence fee for access to the data through the online portal. Leasing: for more than 25 meters we offer a leasing option across three or five years. This spreads the payments monthly across the contract period and means there is no capital outlay at the beginning of the project. In the future we ll be able to add this to your monthly water bill too. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL/SET UP? To connect to your main meters, we will visit your site to install the hardware with no disruption to your business. Sub-metering may require a brief interruption to supply, but we work with you to keep this to a minimum and at a time that is most convenient for you which may be at a weekend or overnight. As soon as we have installed the hardware, the data is transmitted to the online portal and you ll be able to see it almost immediately. We ll give you your own login to the online portal and will also provide training. CAN I CHANGE WATER SUPPLIER? From April 2017, all business customers have the option to choose the water supplier that best meets their needs, just like the domestic market for gas and electricity. If your business is using AMR you ll be able to negotiate a more competitive water tariff because you will understand how and when your business uses water. If you switch water supplier, you can be absolutely confident that you are being billed accurately and can continue to make the savings by identifying wastage and leaks.
