enotify: Final Site Equivalent of Newsflash Mailing Lists enotify is the mailing list module of Final Site. This guide will walk you through creating a mailing list, adding users to the mailing list, as well as demonstrating how parents and public users can sign up to the mailing list, themselves. Creating An enotify Mailing List 1.1 - Login to Final Site by going to: https://www.milforded.org/admin.cfm 1.2 - Click Site Manager, then expand Modules and click enotify. 1.3 - You are taken to the enotify Dashboard. 1.4 - Click the New Mailing List button at the top of the page. 1.5 Enter a relevant, descriptive title for the list name. Parents will have to look for your list amongst all of the other teachers in the district. The name of your list should follow this format: SCHOOL INITIALS Last name First name s Mailing List Example: JAF Lane Olivia s Mailing List School Initial Key: JAF, LAW, AED HSMS, ESMS, WSMS, CPM, JFK, LOS, MAS, MEA, OAS, OHS, PDS (All of them should be self-explanatory besides AED which is Alt Ed/The Academy.)
Click add new list. 1.6 Enter a Display Description, and allow public signup (if this mailing list is for parents/students). 1.7 Don t worry about the code in the box that appears at the bottom of the page. This code is already integrated into every teacher page under the enotify Subscribe page. It allows parents to click the link to sign up to your mailing list. Adding E-Mail Addresses To The Mailing List 2.1 Click the Recipients tab. 2.2 Click Add/Upload Email under Email Addresses. 2.3 If you are comfortable with Microsoft Excel, you can create a file with the e-mail addresses and information of the parents you d like to add and upload it to automate the process of populating the mailing list with names. Download the sample file and create your file accordingly. (2.1, 2.2) (2.3) 2.4 If you do not want to utilize a spreadsheet to import the names/e-mail addresses, you can add them in a more traditional method as well by selecting the Individual button. 2.5 Enter an email address, first name, last name and email type for the parent. If you have additional addresses to enter besides this one, click Add another recipient once you ve filled out the information. When you are done, click save new recipients at the bottom.
2.6 Click Confirm Changes on the screen that appears. You have added e-mail addresses to your mailing list. You can add additional e-mail addresses at any time by clicking the Add/Upload EMail button. Sending An enotice Message You ve created your Mailing List and populated it with e-mail addresses. Now, you can send a message out to the parents on the list. 3.1 While on your Mailing List s page, click New enotice with this list at the top. 3.2 You will see your list is present under Lists in the To area. 3.3 Select your e-mail address in the From dropdown menu. Enter the e-mail addresses of any blind copy recipients you d like. Enter a subject. Create your message. 3.4 You can either save a draft of your message, send it now, or schedule a time to send it out. It s strongly recommended that you save a draft, then click send test to have the e-mail sent to yourself first so you can spot any potential errors or problems. 3.5 The message will be processing at first, then give you information about when it was sent.
How A Parent Adds Themselves To Your Mailing List 4.1 - A parent would click the left navigational tab that says Classroom enotify. They would then click the link on the enotify page to begin the signup process. 4.2 Next, the parent would register a new user account. 4.3 The parent would provide their first and last name, e-mail address, password, and then enter the text with punctuation as it appears in the CAPTCHA to prevent automated attacks against our system. (4.2) (4.3) 4.4 The parent would next select the checkbox beside your list and click the Update Settings button. 4.5 If you were to go into your Mailing List Recipients tab, you would see parents who signed up are added.
