Section Includes: Finish systems for hardwood sports floors. Specifier Note: Revise paragraph below to suit project requirements. Specifier Note: SuperSport Seal s quick-drying, non-ambering, waterborne formula reduces grain raise and prepares the floor for a protective top coat of SuperSport finish. SuperSport Seal seals the wood, provides a high-build layer with elasticity, and prevents the finish from penetrating the wood surface. SuperSport Seal Floor Sealer is inherently low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and emits no toxic fumes. There is no need to vacate the area during application. This product is intended for newly sanded floors only. 1. SuperSport Seal Floor Sealer: a. Ingredients: Water, acrylic resin, Dipropylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether, defoamers. b. Color: Milky, off-white when wet, clear when dry. c. Solids: 35%. d. Flash Point: >200 degrees F (93 degrees C). e. Viscosity: #4 Ford cup 77 degrees F (25 degrees C), approximately 12 seconds. f. Stability: 1 year shelf life in unopened container. g. Density: 8.66 lb/gal (1.04 specific gravity). h. VOC: Does not exceed 2.1 lb/gal (250 g/l). i. Coverage: 450-550 ft 2 /gal (11.3-13.8 m 2 /L). j. Maximum Cure: 100% in 1 week. k. Drying Time: 2-3 hours. Specifier Note: SuperSport is a premium, 2-component waterborne wood floor finish specifically formulated for professional use on maple sports floors, providing a tough, high-build urethane finish. SuperSport Floor Finish is inherently low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and emits no toxic fumes. There is no need to vacate the area during application. 2. SuperSport Floor Finish: a. Ingredients: Water, polyurethane resin, N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone, Dipropylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether and Dipropylene Glycol N-Butyl Ether. b. Color: Milky, off-white when wet, clear when dry. c. Gloss Level: (60 degrees) 88+. d. ph: 8.3. e. Solids: 28%. f. Flash Point: >200 degrees F (93 degrees C). g. Viscosity: #4 Ford cup 77 degrees F (25 degrees C), approximately 16 seconds. h. Stability: 1 year shelf life in unopened container. i. Density: 8.52 lb/gal (1.02 specific gravity). j. VOC: Does not exceed 2.9 lb/gal (350 g/l). k. Coverage: 500-600 ft 2 /gal (12.5-15 m 2 /L). l. Percent Cured After 24 Hours: 80%. m. Maximum Cure: 100% in 1 week. n. Drying Time: 2-3 hours. Specifier Note: Sport Seal oil modified sealer is for sport and all-purpose floors. For use over newly sanded sports floors. Sport Seal meets the federal, and most state, clean air quality standards. Formulated for use with Bona Sport Sport Poly oil modified polyurethane sports floor finish. Seals the wood, providing a build layer and preventing the finish from penetrating. Does not require thinning under normal environmental and application conditions. 3. Sport Seal Floor Sealer: a. Ingredients: Oil modified polyurethane resin, mineral spirits (solvent), driers, defoamers. b. Color: Light amber, clear when dry.

c. Solids: 43%. d. Flash Point: 110 degrees F (43 degrees C) (PMCC). e. Stability: 1 year shelf life in unopened container. f. VOC: Does not exceed 4.2 lb/gal (500 g/l). g. Density: 7.3 lb/gal (0.88 specific gravity). h. Viscosity: #4 Ford cup 77 degrees F (25 degrees C), approximately 14.5-16 seconds. i. Coverage: 400-500 ft 2 /gal (10-12.5 m 2 /L). j. Maximum Cure: 2 weeks. k. Drying Time: 8-12 hours. Specifier Note: Sport Poly is a premium quality, oil modified polyurethane developed specifically for the wood sport floor market. Sport Poly provides an extremely tough, high-build gloss finish with excellent chemical resistance, protecting against perspiration and routine cleaning. Bona Sport Sport Poly meets federal, and most state, clean air quality standards. 4. Sport Poly Floor Finish: a. Ingredients: Oil modified polyurethane resin, mineral spirits (solvent), driers, defoamers. b. Color: Light amber, clear when dry. c. Solids: 50%. d. Flash Point: 110 degrees F (43 degrees C) (PMCC). e. Stability: 1 year shelf life in unopened container. f. VOC: Does not exceed 3.8 lb/gal (450 g/l). g. Density: 7.3 lb/gal (0.88 specific gravity). h. Viscosity: #4 Ford cup 77 degrees F (25 degrees C), approximately 21-24 seconds. i. Coverage: 500 ft 2 /gal (12.5 m 2 /L). j. Percent Cured After 24 Hours: 50%. k. Maximum Cure: 2 weeks. l. Drying Time: 8-12 hours. Specifier Note: CourtLines is a high-solids, fast-drying, solvent based sport floor paint, manufactured specifically for use with both waterborne and oil modified sport floor sealers and finishes. Available in 15 vibrant primary colors. Paints are all mixable and tintable to achieve any custom color desired. 5. CourtLines Sport Floor Paint: a. Ingredients: Alkyd resins, odorless mineral spirits, pigments, driers, titanium dioxide (white only). b. Base Color: [Red] [Yellow] [Green] [Blue] [Dark blue] [Orange] [Brown] [Black] [White] [Gold] [Maroon] [Purple] [N.C. Blue] [Gray] [Light Beige]. c. Solids: Colors 47-51%, White 66%. d. Flash Point: 100 degrees F (38 degrees C) (TCC). e. Viscosity: 60-70 KU (Stormer at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C)). f. Density: Colors 7.6-7.9 lb/gal, White 11.1 lb/gal. g. Division 1 Project Requirements (Product Substitutions Procedures) Section. 2.02 PRODUCT SUBSTITUTIONS A. Substitutions: No substitutions permitted. PART 3 EXECUTION Specifier Note: Article below is an addition to the CSI SectionFormat and a supplement to MANU-SPEC. Revise article below to suit project requirements and specifier s practice. 3.01 MANUFACTURER S INSTRUCTIONS A. Comply with the instructions and recommendations of the sport floor finish system manufacturer. B. For new installation of sport floors, use only in structures with humidity and temperature controls. Do not use over channel and clip floor systems in environments not controlled for temperature and humidity. 3.02 PREPARATION A. Protection: Protect adjacent finish surface to prevent damage during sanding and sport floor system application. B. Surface Preparation: 1. Sand and prepare floor using MFMA accepted methods. 2. For Sport Poly oil modified system, make final sanding cut to 100-120 grit paper. Screen with 100-120 grit screen. 3. For SuperSport waterborne system, make final cut with 100-120 grit sandpaper and screen to 120-150 grit. 4. Vacuum thoroughly. 5. For Sport Poly, tack with mineral spirits. 6. For SuperSport, tack with slightly water dampened Bona Mop or cloth. 3.03 APPLICATION A. Specific application methods vary with product. Consult manufacturer and comply fully with manufacturer s application recommendations. 1. Before using these products, read and understand all directions and the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). 2. Shake well before using. 3. Do not thin these products. 4. Keep from freezing. Specifier Note: Coordinate article below with Division 1 Execution Requirements Section. 3.04 PROTECTION A. After application, protect sport floor finish from damage during subsequent work. B. Do not allow foot traffic until floor is sufficiently dried and cured. END OF SECTION
