Based in West Vancouver, British Columbia, our law firm helps prevent and resolve construction disputes, including those involving collection, delay and tendering issues; defective building claims; and all aspects of lien enforcement and defence. We do so through practical contract drafting and effective use of mediation, arbitration and litigation. Members of the firm have successfully represented clients at all court levels, including at the Supreme Court of Canada. We have contributed to the advancement and development of construction law in other ways as well: through authorship of articles and texts, and through participation in industry and professional seminars. Many of our clients are contractors engaged in the heavy construction or forest industries. For the most part, our work for those clients relates to claims or potential claims arising out of construction projects. We also advise on corporate matters, as well as a variety of other business concerns. For certain clients we provide ongoing advice in relation to corporate and commercial transactions and insolvency matters. We represent, and are members of, the BC Road Builders and Heavy Construction ssociation.

OUR LWYERS Brian G. McLean B.Sc.(Biology), M.Sc.(Zoology), LL.B. Brian McLean was called to the Bar in 1978 in British Columbia and practised as a partner in the firm of Edwards Kenny & Bray in Vancouver until 1993 when he established his own firm. Building on experience gained as a solicitor involved in corporate and commercial transactions, he became litigation counsel, during which time he conducted proceedings arising out of aviation accidents, commercial disputes, and commercial loan defaults. Ultimately, he concentrated on construction matters and has conducted his practice in contract law and commercial litigation for the past seventeen years. Brian s practice extends to construction related issues, as well as commercial cases involving corporate governance, insolvency, and shareholders remedies Chris R. rmstrong B..Sc.(Geotechnical), P. Chris s practice is primarily focused on providing advice to construction contractors as issues arise, beginning with contract drafting and development, throughout the course of construction and on to dispute resolution where necessary the focus is on solving problems before they become disputes.
