FEFU s geopolitical environment Economic concentration areas of Russia, EU and Japan (GRP per sq. km) If you mentally outline around Vladivostok agglomeration (its core - the city of Vladivostok and Artem) a circle with a radius of 1,000 km, then more than 414 million people (of whom nearly 300 million in urban areas) reside in this area, the share of the population of Vladivostok just over 0.1 %. Vladivostok is the only city in Russia with such a powerful environment. For example, around Moscow at the same distance there are about 100 million people. FEFU top strategic objective up to 2020 is to become a leading scientific, educational and innovative center to provide Russia with territorial efficiency in the Asia-Pacific Region. FEFU Today Total number of FEFU s students is over 29 000, 10% of them are the students outside the Russian Far Eastern region and foreigners. The share of graduate and postgraduate (Master & Ph.D.) students in the total number of FEFU students is 8%. The basis for a admission of graduate and post-graduate students is formed predominantly by FEFU s graduates (including graduates of previous years). The share of international students in the total number of students is 5%. The University has identified six priority areas for development, on the basis of which there were started the formation of professional competence centers (centers of excellence). The proportion of graduates who find jobs outside of the Russian Federation, is in the range of 5-7%. FEFU s Schools implement over 70 programs of continuing professional education The number of academic staff is 3300, which account for about 300-400 of annual research publications indexed in Scopus, Web of Science. Average citation index - 0.2 articles per faculty. The share of foreign professors, teachers and researchers working for FEFU, is about 3.5%. Far Eastern Federal University is the only university representing Russia in the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). FEFU has a developed Russian language and culture center f or international students. 5
