This free, confidential service provides reading instruction for English-speaking adults. The schedule is flexible, but there is a three-hour per week time commitment for six months. Volunteer literacy tutors are 18 years old and older. Tutors are trained and supervised by library staff. Tutors also have a three-hour per week, six-month commitment. The primary source of training materials comes from Laubach Literacy Action, an international adult literacy program. Other materials are used as needed.
