chicago Operating instructions

English ❿ Use the entire seating surface The entire surface of the anatomically shaped seat should be taken up. Only this ensures contact with the supporting back-rest. The seat on standard chicago models tilts forwards at a 2 angle. This ensures that even with bigger work surfaces, a healthy posture for working is maintained. ❿ Adjust seat height correctly The right seat height means that your elbows should be bent at a 90 angle when your forearms are lying horizontally on the work surface; knees should also be bent at a 90 angle when your foot is placed flat on the floor. If your work surface is too high and the height cannot be adjusted, a footrest with adjustable height and angle is required. ❿ Adjust back-rest Adjust the height of the optional lordosis support so that the curve of the back-rest supports your spinal column at the 3 rd and 4 th lumbar vertebrae (area of the largest outward curve). As a result, the natural S-shape of the spinal column is stabilised in any seating position. ❿ Dynamic sitting Sitting dynamically means altering your sitting posture frequently, that is, varying between sitting forwards and backwards as frequently as possible. Therefore, it is important to put the back-rest in a dynamic position. Chicago is fitted with a Similar mechanism and the support pressure of the back-rest can be adjusted to suit individual requirements. As a result the back-rest and seat automatically offer support whatever the sitting position. Sitting healthily is a matter of adjustment

Using the chair This office swivel chair must only be used appropriately and with general care and attention. Using this chair for other purposes (such as standing on it to reach for something or sitting on the armrests) is dangerous and may cause accidents. Castors In the interest of your own safety, and in order to allow for different types of floor, there is a choice of castors which conform to safety regulations: - Castors with a hard surface for use on soft floors - Castors with a soft surface for use on hard floors When changing castors, for example when moving or after a new floor is being fitted, simply pull out or push in castors after lightly oiling them. Arm-rests Arm-rests on some models can be fitted or replaced at a later date if required. Plastic components A soapy solution is most suitable. Please do not use aggressive detergents. Upholstery Upholstered components must only be replaced by experts. Use a gentle washing liquid for sensitive fabrics to remove minor dirt from the upholstery - do not use chemical detergents. Leather Leather is a natural fibre. Slight scarring gives leather its unmistakable quality. Clean away slight dirt with a soft wool cloth.
