AWARDS The following awards are presented at graduation in recognition of service to the legal community, contribution to the Law School, and academic excellence. Kaplan Award for Legal Services The Kaplan Award for Legal Services is presented to the Concord graduate who has demonstrated excellence in professionalism and exemplary service to the community through his or her Legal Education Experience Program (LEEP) or EJD Practicum externship. As externs, Concord students provide great value to the organization they serve and further the Law School's reputation in the legal community. ALI-ABA Scholarship and Leadership Award The ALI-ABA Scholarship and Leadership Award is presented to the graduate who demonstrated significant scholarship during his or her career at the Law School. ALI-ABA, a premier provider of continuing legal education, whose parent organizations are the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association, sponsors this award for graduates at law schools across the country. Sue Lane Award This award is given in memory of Sue Lane, the first registrar of Concord Law School. Sue was an early champion of the Concord mission to provide access to individuals who, for reasons of work or family care-giving responsibilities, were not able to attend a bricks-and-mortar law school. In her personal and professional life, Sue gave 100 percent to whatever the task was at hand. Her strong work ethic, compassionate nature, and service to the community are the basis on which this award is presented. Executive Juris Doctor Award for Academic Excellence This award is presented to the EJD student in this graduating group who achieved the highest cumulative grade point average. Jack R. Goetz Award This award for academic excellence is in honor of the founding dean of Concord Law School, Jack R. Goetz. It is presented to the graduate of each JD class who achieved the highest cumulative grade point average.
