Introduction Citrix EdgeSight for NetScaler builds application visibility into the application delivery infrastructure, providing end user performance monitoring for Web applications. It provides a solution to monitor the actual end user experience with the HTML Web content served to the users in a NetScaler environment. It identifies performance issues for users at any location and provides critical visibility into the origin of the problem. The EdgeSight for NetScaler management console provides real time and historical views of Web application performance. EdgeSight for NetScaler includes the following features: Home Application Reporting Administration The Home page provides a dashboard that displays reports to depict the overall status of various applications monitored by the EdgeSight for NetScaler server for the last 24 hours. The Application page displays the performance of a specific application by using various reports. You can view the reports in either Global View or Regional View. The Reporting page lets you run real time and historical reports to monitor the performance of Web applications. The Administration page lets you perform post installation configurations, and also configure settings for companies and reports. Preparing the EdgeSight for NetScaler Installation Environment Before you install your EdgeSight for NetScaler server, ensure that you have the minimum requirements, such as EdgeSight server requirements and database server requirements. For detailed information about the requirements, see section Before You Begin in the Citrix EdgeSight for NetScaler Installation Guide. The EdgeSight for NetScaler deployment consists of a single Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2003 SP1 or later. If you plan to install your MS SQL Server database on the same system, ensure that Windows server supports SQL Server. Note: It is highly recommended that you install Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services before installing EdgeSight for NetScaler software. Reporting Services is used for the generation of historical reports. Reporting Services must be in place before historical reports can be displayed. 3
