1.0. Accessing the Orthopaedics SharePoint Site 1.1. Remote Access to Orthopaedics SharePoint Site You can access the Orthopaedics SharePoint site by navigating through department s public web site. http://ortho.osu.edu/ Click on Related Site link in the footer section of the department site [picture below]. Click on OSUMC Software Systems link. Lastly, click on Orthopaedics SharePoint Site link. Page 4 of 19
Alternatively, you can bookmark the following URL to go directly Orthopaedics SharePoint site. https://collaborate.osumc.edu/sites/orthopaedics/ Please select Private Computer and OSUMC domain for authentication purposes, then enter your OSUMC network username and password. 1.2. Local Access to Orthopaedics SharePoint Site If your computer is on OSUMC network and you have logged onto the computer using your OSUMC network account, you can access the Orthopaedics SharePoint site by clicking on Collaboration link on OneSource page. Once you are on OSUMC SharePoint server, click on Directory of Sites section on the left, expand Clinical Departments group in the main pane, and click on Department of Orthopaedics link. Page 6 of 19
1.3. Web Browser Security Settings Web browser security settings may need to be adjusted if issues are experienced with authentication or navigation on the SharePoint site. Please follow the following steps only if you experience authentication or navigation issues on this site. Select Internet Options under Tools menu. Page 7 of 19
Click on Security tab, click on Trusted Sites zone, and click on Default Level button. If Default Level button is grayed out, the zone security settings are already at default level. While on this page, click on Sites button to add the SharePoint site to your browser s list of trusted sites. Page 8 of 19

2.0. Using the Orthopaedics SharePoint Site Once on the Orthopaedics SharePoint home page, click on Documents section on the left. Then, click on Document Library Ortho Residents folder. Page 12 of 19
Faculty members have editorial access to Ortho Residents Document Library and its subfolders. Residents have view access to Ortho Residents Document Library and all its sub-folders except the Residents Tips, Quips, and Pearls (TQP) folder. Residents have editorial access to the TQP folder. As you navigate down sub-folders, navigational breadcrumbs on the top are updated to show you where you are in the hierarchy of the folders. The breadcrumb links can be used to navigate back to parent folders. Page 14 of 19
When uploading documents to the SharePoint site, you will need to check in the documents and confirm that they do not contain any restricted information. Patient Health Information (PHI) is considered restricted information on this site. Please refrain from storing documents which contain PHI on this site. To upload a document into a target folder, select Advanced Multiple Upload from the Upload menu. This is the preferred function to upload one or more documents, check in the document(s), and confirm that they do not contain restricted information. The other two functions under Upload menu require extra steps to perform the aforementioned tasks. Page 15 of 19
After selecting Advanced Multiple Upload, navigate your local hard drive to find a target folder, click on names of target files to select them, and then click OK. Page 16 of 19
Select Yes in response to the Security Disclaimer to indicate that your files do not contain any restricted information, and then click OK. If you neglect to respond to the Security Disclaimer, no files will be uploaded to the site. Page 17 of 19
If you upload a file by mistake, you can delete the wrong file by select Delete from the file action drop-down menu located on the far right of file name box. This drop-down menu is visible to editors only. Page 18 of 19
