Windward Manhattan Lower and Middle Schools Instructions for Parent/Teacher Conference Online Scheduling The Windward Manhattan Lower and Middle Schools Parent/Teacher Conference (PTC) online scheduling instructions are listed below. These instructions provide a brief overview of how to schedule appointments online for the Monday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 3 conference days. A. Accessing and registering to make an online appointment: Visit The Windward School website at thewindwardschool.org. Click the Community Link tab on the main blue navigation menu, and then choose the Parents tab. In the drop down menu, choose PTC Scheduling Instructions and Portal. Click the Windward Manhattan Lower and Middle Schools login yellow button. B. Registering and entering your child s name: All parents at Windward are FIRST TIME USERS for the fall 2015 school year. Please do not sign in using the Returning Parents tab. Follow the Sign in here prompt on the left side of your screen. The email address and log in information that you used last year will not allow you to schedule your conference online this year. All users must register as a First Time User. First Time User: Register as a new user by entering name/email/password in the First Time user box on the right side of the screen. It is recommended that you use an email address currently on file with The Windward School. If you experience difficulties logging in using a specific email address, use an alternate email address. Press the Register button to proceed to next page. Remember to write down your password. You are welcome at any time to return to the conference program to modify your appointment. To do so, you must sign in on the left side of the screen using the Returning Parents Sign in here section. (See *Note 1 at the end of these instructions for additional information.) C. Child Registration: The Welcome to PTC Wizard page will ask returning parents to confirm their child s name. The page will ask first-time users for their child s first and last names. The following screen will ask you to confirm your child s name. Click Yes and press Continue to go to the next page. Click No if your child s name needs to be edited or if you need to add a sibling. Only add a sibling if he or she attends the Windward Manhattan Lower and Middle School campus. (Please see *Note 2 at the end of these instructions to add siblings.) D. Setting up and confirming your appointment: The next screen, Ready to Begin? will allow you to confirm your conference date. Choose ONE DATE and the Division that your child is in: If your child is in 3 rd or 4 th Grade, please choose Manhattan Lower School and either November 2 or November 3. Then proceed to step E. If your child is in 5 th or 6 th Grade, please choose Manhattan Middle School and either November 2 or November 3. Then proceed to step G. Page 2 of 6
The next screen will confirm your appointment. Press Continue. Do not check more than one date, as the program will automatically delete both appointments from the system. On the next screen you will have the opportunity to choose a time slot for your appointment. If you cannot find a suitable appointment time for the date you have chosen, press Back to return to the previous page. E. Windward Manhattan Lower School (Grades 3 and 4) Choosing your child s teacher team: The online scheduling program will display a list of all teacher teams, which are organized by grade, homeroom teacher, and teacher team number as shown under the Team column. The language arts and math teachers are listed under the Teacher Team column. Scroll through the list and choose your child s teacher team by checking the team box. The language arts and math teachers under the Team column are listed in alphabetical order within the team. They are not Page 3 of 6 ECB 2015 10 06
listed by the class they teach. Choose only ONE teacher team. Each teacher team has a corresponding team number. Please refer to the teacher team and team number sent home with your child. Press Continue to confirm your teacher team. F. Choosing your appointment time: Step 3 will allow you to choose your appointment time for your conference. Choose any available 30-minute time slot. Once you have selected your preferred time, click Continue. This will take you to the confirmation page where you will view your appointment and date. An email confirmation will be sent to the email address you used to register. This confirmation will show your child s name, the conference you confirmed, e.g., Grade 3 (Ms. McNiven s Hrm. Team 413), date and time of your conference and the room in which it will take place. The one or more teachers confirmed for this conference are included in this meeting. (Please do not confirm more than one conference per child.) If you would like to book your appointment by phone, you may do so by contacting Ms. Kerry Kelly at (212) 222 8628. G. Windward Manhattan Middle School (Grades 5 and 6) Choosing your child s teachers: The online scheduling program will display a list of all Middle School teachers available for conferencing. Teacher names are organized in alphabetical order along with their subject. Page 4 of 6
Scroll through the list and choose your child s teacher(s) by checking the box next to the appropriate name(s). Select your child s language arts, math, science, and social studies teachers. You are welcome to set up an appointment with specialist teachers, such as your child s art or physical education teacher. Press Continue to confirm your teacher team. Please do not set up an appointment with your child s homeroom teacher. H. Choosing your appointment time: Step 3 will allow you to select appointment times for your conference. Select any available 15-minute time slot. Once you have selected your preferred time(s), click Continue. Proceed to the confirmation page. I. The confirmation page will allow you to view your the conference date that you have confirmed. An email confirmation will be sent to the email address you provided at registration. * Note 1: Parents may change or cancel their conference by clicking My Schedule, located on the top left corner of the screen. After you have cancelled your appointment, you may start the online scheduling by pressing the Start Wizard or the Home tab. * Note 2: If you have two or more children, you will notice that all siblings listed will appear in the drop down box. Choose the 15-minute or 30-minute appointment slots for each child attending Windward Manhattan Lower and Middle Schools. If your other child is a student at a different Windward School location, YOU WILL NEED to return to the start page of the PTC program and schedule for your second child by choosing the same date and other school division. You may log into the conferencing program using the same email address and password. *Additional Notes: You may change your password or email address by pressing My Account in the upper right corner.
