Evolution The US-Mexico Joint Working Committee (JWC) proposed a compendium of border-wide regional master plans with a comprehensive and prioritized assessment of transportation needs along the border including at the Ports of Entry (POE). The Regional Master Plans provide the next logical step in a comprehensive, binational transportation planning process. Data from the plans will be used to adequately evaluate growth and future capacity needs at the border and to more realistically forecast future conditions in the border region.

Project Objectives Develop and implement a plan for identifying, prioritizing, and promoting land port of entry (LPOE) and related transportation projects over the short-, medium- and long-term. Design a process to ensure that relevant public and private stakeholder agencies participate in the planning of LPOE projects and related transportation infrastructure improvements.
Project Objectives Increase the understanding of planning processes to initiate LPOE and transportation planning improvement projects on both sides of the border. Establish a process for continued dialogue among federal, state, regional, and local stakeholder agencies in New Mexico and Chihuahua that will promote coordination on current and future projects.
