THE POST OF VIDEO PRODUCER An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative, enthusiastic and highly collaborative Video Producer to join Greenpeace, the world's most iconic and determined campaigning organisation. Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation that acts to change attitudes and behaviour, in order to protect and conserve the environment and promote peace. We are looking for a Video Producer to join the Programme Team at our head office in Islington, where you will apply your experience of delivering high quality video output to tight deadlines, whilst managing multiple video projects with a portfolio of innovative and experienced Film Makers. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate on project teams for Greenpeace campaigns, visualise, plan and deliver image outputs, plus propose plans, storyboards and scripts for videos. 4

Reporting to the Head of Photo and Video, you will also: Commission freelancers and production companies, plus brief and oversee the quality of their output Contribute to the decision-making process at a senior level Advise project teams on use of video, including the role of videos in project, action and event planning Actively partner with the Digital Mobilisation team Research, prepare and present photo and video budgets. To be successful you will be motivated, flexible and innovative, with a wealth of video production experience, particularly in working to tight deadlines and delivering projects on time and on budget. You will also be able to demonstrate a proven track record of working as part of project teams with specific objectives. In addition, you will have: Editing skills in packages such as Premiere and Final Cut Pro A strong background with social media video production and the production of short films with a low budget and fast turnaround Experience managing a YouTube channel Experience of managing freelancers and successfully setting and evaluating their output. JOB DESCRIPTION POST: UNIT: RESPONSIBLE TO: PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: Video Producer Programme Head of Photo and Video N/A on managing freelancers THE ROLE OF THE VIDEO PRODUCER This person will be working with the Head of Photo & Video, taking on responsibility for video projects at Greenpeace - to support and manage a high volume schedule. The Video Producer collaborates on project teams for Greenpeace campaigns; visualises, plans and delivers image outputs (often short videos for social media); proposes plans, storyboards and scripts for videos that fulfil the project objectives; and visualises plans for still images. The role will also involve some post-production - editing, archiving and working with the press office on photo and video distribution. MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: To collaborate with project teams, including project managing the image output for a project. To advise project teams on use of video, including best practice, standards and the role of videos in project, action and event planning. To contributing to the decision making process at a senior level. To actively partner with the Digital Mobilisation team. To contribute to the evaluation process of projects to take away learning and suggest improvements. To research, prepare and present photo and video budgets to project teams and team leaders. To take responsibility for budgets and ensure it is spent within agreed parameters. To deputize for the Head of Photo & Video where necessary Engaging Freelancers To commission freelancers and production companies and negotiate rates, oversee and taking responsibility for their output. To ensure quality control standards are agreed in advance and met. 6

To be responsible for briefing and managing video production of freelancers and production companies. To be responsible for setting the quality/standard of their output and to evaluate output. Administration Archive and administrative tasks - such as photos, footage and finished videos. To updating the Greenpeace UK YouTube channel and monitor analytics - for feedback and evaluations. Equipment To be responsible for lending, maintaining and upgrading Greenpeace UK camera and editing equipment. To ensure it remains in good condition. To be responsible for hiring camera equipment and setting up hire agreements To fulfil any other task as required of the role. 7

PERSON SPECIFICATION JOB TITLE: DEPARTMENT: Video Producer Programme Listed below are the requirements needed to undertake this job. The selection of candidates will be based on the extent to which these requirements are met. A creative and enthusiastic video producer with experience of delivering high quality video output to tight deadlines. Able to demonstrate experience in video production - working to tight deadlines. Able to plan, prioritise and organise a workload with competing priorities. Can demonstrate working as part of project teams with specific objectives. Able to demonstrate experience of delivering projects on time and on budget. Possess knowledge of editing skills - in packages such as Premiere and Final Cut Pro. Experience with social media video production. Able to demonstrate experience of producing short films, low budget with fast turnaround. Experience of managing a YouTube channel. Experience of managing freelancers. Experience with graphics would be an advantage. Some photo experience would be an advantage. Flexibility to work unsocial hours as required. SUMMARY OF TERMS, CONDITIONS AND BENEFITS SALARY This post has a full time salary range of 36,060 to 42,216 per annum. We normally offer a starting salary at the first spinal point of the grade. WORKING HOURS The hours of work for this post are 37.5 per week. PROBATIONARY PERIOD All new employees are appointed subject to successful completion of a six-month probationary period. ANNUAL LEAVE Annual leave entitlement for full time staff is 25 days per year, plus one additional day for every full year of employment up to a maximum of 7 additional days. Leave is calculated on a pro-rata basis for part time staff. In addition, our offices are closed between Christmas and New Year, reopening on the first working day after New Year s Day. Staff are not required to take annual leave during this period. PENSION SCHEME In line with government requirements all staff are automatically enrolled into our workplace pension scheme. Greenpeace runs a contributory pension scheme held with Aviva, with optional Salary Sacrifice. Greenpeace contributes 8.5% of basic salary, provided the employee contributes at least 3%. POLITICAL REPRESENTATION Greenpeace is a non-party political organisation and it is important for its future that this should remain the case. It is, therefore, a condition of employment that employees shall not normally stand for any official position within a political party. RELOCATION EXPENSES Greenpeace offers assistance towards relocation expenses in certain cases. LIFE ASSURANCE Greenpeace offers a life assurance scheme paying four times annual salary in the unfortunate event of death during employment.
