Deutsch City Manager Milestone Communications Presentation Proposed Cell Tower at Benjamin Tasker Middle School Date: January 15, 2014 Milestone Communications (Milestone) has entered into an agreement with the Prince George s County Board of Education to allow Milestone to market school board properties to wireless carriers looking to improve cellular service within Prince George s County. Benjamin Tasker Middle School is one of the sites selected to enhance wireless coverage for Verizon Wireless LLC. Milestone has requested the opportunity to brief City Council on this issue. 4 Wireless Safety Radio frequency (RF) energy has been used scientifically and commercially for more than 100 years. The amount of power needed to operate a tower is very low. Each antenna panel generates less than 50 watts of power. RF levels are measured annually on Milestone sites. Measurements have shown the RF levels to be 1,000 times less than then FCC threshold.
