Establishment and goals MILTON D. AND MARY M. MILLER PLANT SCIENCE AWARD The Milton D. And Mary M. Miller Plant Science Award was established in 1977 for the purpose of providing grants to members of the University of California Cooperative Extension who are seeking advanced degrees and to support undergraduates of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences interested in a career in Cooperative Extension particularly in the Cooperative Extension Plant Science Intern programs. It is the hope of the donors that the fund will grow as recipients repay the grants when and if they are able, but grants are not conditional upon the promise of repayment. The gift of this fund to the Cal Aggie Foundation by the Millers is typical of their lifetime of thoughtfulness and service to other people. It is their desire, through this gift, to help smooth the way for advancement of many others who share their ideals and dedication to progress in agriculture through research and education at the University. Selection Criteria The Milton D. and Mary M. Miller Plant Science fund annually provides monies for awards each year for UC Cooperative Extension plant science professionals.
