Home Builders Blitz 2016 is a partnership between Habitat for Humanity affiliates and the local building community to make sure more families have a chance to own a simple, decent, affordable home. 10 homes five days $260,000. That s the goal we have our eyes set on as we prepare for our Home Builders Blitz 2016 this coming June. This annual event is a partnership between Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando and the local building community to help more families have access to simple, decent and affordable housing. This year s blitz which will take place at Butler s Preserve will bring together thousands to construct homes from start to finish in just one week. The Home Builders Blitz Toolkit Sponsorship Build by being a financial supporter. Sponsor levels begin at $1,000 and extend to a presenting sponsor level Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando Secure land for the build and manage the development of the site. Provide house plans, obtain permits, and work with Habitat International to obtain donations of targeted materials. Manage the marketing and communications of the event. Select the homeowners based on Habitat s family selection criteria. Builders Donate time, material and services to build homes. Leverage relationships to encourage subcontractors to donate time and services. Impact Housing provides more than just a roof over someone s head, it provides: 1. Stability for families and children 2. Physical safety and security 3. A sense of dignity and pride

This new urbanism community of 59 affordable homes will be constructed on a piece of property in the Malibu Groves area that has been blighted for more than 20 years. Butler s Preserve is named after Mable Butler, longtime advocate for affordable housing and former District 6 Orange County Commissioner.
