General Specifications GS 33Q02N81-31E LPC7800 VTSPortal Basic Pack LPC7801 VTSPortal Multiple Client Builder License GENERAL The primary objective of the Yokogawa Versatile Terminal Service Application Portal (VTSPortalTM) enables you to put CENTUM CS 3000, Exaplog, Exapilot, Exaquantum, and PRM on the web site via the Windows terminal service. VTSPortal is to provide an integrated Human-Machine Interface (HMI) framework that promotes the idea of digital independence for all Yokogawa solutions. Digital independence is the ability to connect to any Yokogawa HMI application, over any network connection. The VTSPortal are for operational staff, engineering staff, and plant management staff in new or existing plants that deploy a mixture of Yokogawa products and who now wish to extend the reach of those applications to support remote or web access. Access is provided in the form of a Portal Web Site with customizable content on a per-user basis. Potential Features Support remote maintenance or engineering work for CS 3000 installations via a dialup or other WAN connection. Support remote monitoring and operation for unmanned control areas. Support connection of mobile field devices to a control room server for CS 3000 installations. Support an aggregated access point for all applications. Support application deployment on dedicated thin-client hardware. 2 VTSPotal SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE The VTSPortal can be deployed in an internal LAN environment (e.g. intranet), a WAN environment with remote access capabilities (e.g. internet), or in a mixture that provides both LAN and WAN access. WAN Portal Clients Laptop PDA Desktop PDA Remote Engineering Station Modem Internet Portal Clients W-LAN Tablet W-LAN Portal Clients Firewall W-LAN Laptop Office Network W-LAN Access Point Modem VTSPortal Web Server Plant Network Exapilot Server VTSPortal Application Server (Exapilot) VTSPortal Application Server (LHS1150/LHM1150) CS 3000 HIS Control Network Figure VTSPortal Network Architecture Portal Client is a station providing client access to the VTSPortal Application Server. A client can connect to the Server via an Ethernet based Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless LAN (W-LAN), or Wide Area Network (WAN). VTSPortal Web Server is the station hosting the portal web site and providing Web browser based access to the published applications on the VTSPortal Application Servers. The VTSPortal Application Server is a PC that provides HMI of applications for the VTSPortal Web server by using the Windows terminal service. Install the Windows terminal service, each product package, and the VTSPortal Application Server Function on the PC (Hereinafter, this PC is referred to as an application server). In the figure above, the application server for CENTUM CS 3000 and the application server for Exapilot are prepared respectively. To provide the Operation and Monitoring Function of CENTUM CS 3000 for the VTSPortal client, the Server for Remote Operation and Monitoring Function (LHS1150/LHM1150) is required for the application server. The VTSPortal Web Server Function and the Application Server Function cannot be installed on one PC. Please prepare a PC for the VTSPortal Web server and a PC for the application server respectively. When the Multiple Client Builder License is installed on the application server, you can run several builder functions simultaneously. F01E.ai GS 33Q02N81-31E Jan. 1, 2006-00
3 In the LAN deployment (see figure below), the Portal Web Server and Application Server components are installed and connected to the existing Plant LAN. If needed, a firewall should added to isolate the connection between the Plant LAN and an Office LAN, thus providing portal access to the computers outside the Plant LAN. Wireless LAN (W- LAN) access to the portal can be added by installing the appropriate Wireless Access Points to the Office LAN and/or Plant LAN segments. 4 In the WAN deployment (see figure below), the Application Server component is installed and connected to the existing Plant LAN. To provide an isolated and secure Internet connection between the Application Server and the Web clients, the Portal Web Server is installed in a demilitarized zone (DMZ). A DMZ is a separate network segment between the external and internal firewalls that is not directly connected to either the internal LAN or the Internet. Either a standard web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) or the secure browser (VTSExplorer) provided with the portal software can be used for this purpose. RDP Client is the Terminal Services Client provided by Microsoft to execute Remote Desktop Connections. This client is freely available for use on any 32-bit Windows O/S and is pre-installed on all Windows XP and.net PCs Portal Site is the collection of prepared web pages, data stores, and template files used to support the web access to the terminal service applications. Application Manager is the administration tool used on each Application Server to selectively publish the installed applications to the Portal Users. CS 3000 Search Service is the search engine web service used to find matching results for CS 3000 HIS/ENG applications. TSE App/App are the HIS Terminal Service Enabled (TSE) applications or other applications that have been installed within Terminal Services and published for portal user access. Terminal Services is the configurable service included in the Windows Server 2003 operating system that gives it the capability to run 32-bit Windows-based applications centrally from a server.
