Cochlear Implants Complex acous@c waveforms can be decomposed into a slowly varying envelope (ENV) modula@ng a rapidly- varying temporal fine- structure (TFS).

Results to date Normal Hearing > Bilateral CIs > Unilateral CI Children with Bilateral CIs perform be#er with than children with a single CIs. However, they are significantly worse than normal- hearing peers: Sound localiza@on Speech in noise (e.g., Spa@al release from masking)

What are the next steps?
