Distributed Network Monitoring and Analysis System for Multi- Protocol Environments TAMS TAMS is a powerful, customized traffic analysis and monitoring system for multi-protocol environments. Featuring a powerful Oracle central database, the Traffic Analysis and Monitoring System (TAMS) is one of the most advanced multi-protocol network monitoring systems available. TAMS features a multitude of monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities that provide network fault alarming and traffic statistics, as well as an easy-to-use toolkit for rapid problem isolation, analysis and resolution. Because of its User and Service-centric visibility, TAMS is rapidly becoming the industry s premier Customer Service Assurance (CSA) tool for Network Operations Centers throughout the world. TAMS utilizes 3GMaster and NeTracker protocol analyzers as distributed probes, scaling to virtually any size network or network topology. With TAMS advanced correlation software, operators are able to rapidly drill down into message-level call detail record (CDR) details, aiding in fast resolution of call performance problems, service problems and QoS issues. All system features are based on an Oracle -powered central database. PSTN Mobile Core Benefits Around-the-clock data collection and CDR warehousing ensures data is there when needed Features Ideal for Customer Service Assurance programs in the NOC Wide range of protocols supported for fixed and mobile networks Open-platform based on Oracle Business Intelligence Network-independent signaling and traffic monitoring with detailed interface correlation Multi-level reporting for users with different needs Historical session analysis with drill-down capability IMS TAMS NGN UMTS End-to-end call visibility speeds troubleshooting cycle SLA verification ensures operator commitments Easy integration into 3rd party OSS and NMS systems Real-time network call trace Real-time alarming for critical condition notification Advanced KPIs for network, subscribers and services Reduce expenses by using 3GMaster and NeTracker as distributed probes accantosystems.com

Features Feature Historical Session Analysis with Drill-down Capability Multi-Protocol Correlated Trace Traffic Monitoring Traffic Alarms Signaling Link Outage Detection Real-Time Network Call Trace Voice Quality of Service (QoS) Scoring Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) Analysis Report Scheduler Off-line Analysis Description TAMS is capable of correlating all CDRs belonging to a specific call upon pre-configured correla-tion, routing and network topology rules. This correlation occurs over all protocols employed. The user searches the specific call within a CDR repository, where the system is capable of automatically showing all correlated call legs. Once a specific call has been located, the user can examine its protocol sequence through the CDR-to-Frame capability in order to obtain a unified view of the entire call by means of ladder diagrams. Traffic metrics (KPIs) computed by the monitoring system provide the operator with near-real-time visibility of how well the network is performing. Proactive actions to control or prevent problems can then be taken based on the collected indicators. TAMS can aggregate these statistics by configurable destinations including IP addresses, Point Codes and Called/Calling Numbers. TAMS can generate alarms based upon thresholds to intercept degradations of specific traffic indicators such as ASR or Call Completions. Mirroring the Traffic Monitoring function, these alarms can be grouped by configurable destinations including IP addresses, Point Codes and Called/Calling Numbers. TAMS provides real-time visibility into the health of the signaling network, detecting failures and critical conditions affecting network availability. The database logs all events related to the availability of the signaling links (i.e. in-service, out-of-service). Combinations of events can be defined to generate alarms stored in the Alarm Log. Typically, the Network Under Monitor implements multiple signaling protocols, thus increasing the operational complexity of troubleshooting a call while it is going through the network. The real-time network call trace allows the tracing of a call while it is in progress. The user configures the parameters upon which the call must be traced (e.g., Called Number) and then waits for the signaling messages to appear when detected by the remote probes. This tool works in single as well as multi-protocol environments. Voice calls are analyzed to provide real-time QoS scoring (MOS and R-Factor according to ITU G.107) of live subscriber audio traffic. All QoS data, as well as Packet Loss, Jitter and Duplications are stored in the CDRs for successive reporting or alarming purposes. TAMS provides an extensive set of RTP measurements such as Jitter, Packet Loss and Duplications. The indicators can be obtained on specific routes such as Origination/ Destination IP Addresses or Called/Calling Numbers. Reports can be automatically generated daily, weekly or monthly. TAMS allows off-line protocol analysis including searching and filtering months of data to perform troubleshooting for problems which have already occurred. 2 :: Distributed Network Monitoring Analysis System

THOUSANDS of APPLICATIONS While TAMS can easily adapt to virtually any mixedtechnology telecom environment, the system excels in the following application environments. For further details of these applications, make sure to download our latest Application Notes! Customer Service Assurance Because of its ability to correlate data from multiple sources, TAMS provides an accurate view of how services are perceived by the end-users themselves. This provides an incredible tool for the NOC in Customer Service Assurance and Customer Experience Management applications. From a tactical perspective, TAMS CSA features dramatically reduce trouble-ticket resolution times by mapping service experience issues into actual network element and application-layer faults. Mobile X-Ray Architecture network services subscribers PARTNERNETWORK INNOVATION AWARD 2008: WINNER X-Ray expert engine Oracle database business intelligence Mobile Data Services Powered by our new Mobile X-Ray analysis architecture, TAMS is an ideal solution for helping service providers quickly diagnose and manage next-generation mobile data services. Based on Oracle Business Intelligence, it is the first solution that correlates critical information from the Network, Services, Subscribers and Devices, resulting in a clear picture of the overall mobile data service environment. Voice Over IP / PSTN Interworking TAMS helps operators maintain quality and control of VoIP and other latency-sensitive traffic. Traffic measurements such as Call Completion, Average Call Duration, Answer to Seizure Ratio, Answer to Bid Ratio and Network Efficiency Ratio help the operator understand the basic performances of the network, while RTP measurements and Integrated Voice Quality scoring help the operator understand the actual voice quality experienced by the end-user. Wireless Core Optimization TAMS allows service providers to easily keep their legacy or Next Generation Core network under control. TAMS Performs end-to-end call tracing, interworking troubleshooting, dropped call analysis, call completion analysis, hand-over procedure troubleshooting and even research on customer/traffic behavior. Key features include traffic analysis, call/transaction drill-down, multi-protocol correlated trace, real-time network call trace, off-line analysis and multi-user/ multi-tier system management via central GUI. It integrates easily into external NMS systems. UMTS TAMS is a key tool in assuring that sophisticated UMTS architectures are operating at maximum efficiency and quality. The system continuously collects CDRs and protocol messages, allowing fast drill-down and analysis for rapid issue resolution. It correlates all relevant protocols to provide a unified view of the entire call/transaction using ladder diagrams and other graphical tools. Integrated traffic analysis provides reports and statistics about key traffic behavior, such as call completion and disconnection causes. devices OSS surveillance troubleshooting reporting 4 :: Distributed Network Monitoring Analysis System

Remote Probes for Tams TAMS utilizes acquisition devices (probes) distributed over the Network Under Monitor that generates raw CDR and protocol-level statistics. This raw data is then collected by the TAMS Data Collection Server (DCS) and is dispatched to the different applications implemented over the Oracle database. TAMS can be deployed with both the 3GMaster and NeTracker protocol analyzer models.
