Each driver version is only compatible with a specific firmware revision. In a system, all Fusion iomemory iodrive and iodrive Duo cards must be at the correct firmware revision for the currently installed driver. Overview & Features General Notes & Recommendations The following guidelines were referenced from HP document titled: HP ROM-Based Utility Setup Utility User Guide HP Part Number: 347563-409 Published: September 2013 Edition: 1 Aux Power for HP IO Accelerators 4AA4 4296ENW HP Technical White Paper Configuring and Tuning HP ProLiant Servers for Low-Latency Applications White Paper HP Part Number: 581608-005 Published April 2013 Edition: 5 BIOS: upgrade the BIOS to the most recent version. Firmware: be sure that all platform firmware is up to date. Cooling: HP recommends that all customers using HP IO Accelerators set the BIOS option for Increased Cooling instead of the default Optimal Cooling. Also, always use the latest available BIOS as many platforms have had their BIOS updated specifically to increase fan speeds to deliver more cooling to devices like the HP IO Accelerator. Power: HP does not qualify external power on the Gen 1 & Gen 2 iodrive Duo. The power cable that normally ships with Fusion iomemory products does not ship with any HP products. Power management: Later-generation HP servers have a power management setting that, by default, adjusts the power to CPUs dynamically. This setting can be problematic when using HP IO Accelerators. The options are: HP Dynamic Power Savings Mode (default) HP Static Low Power Mode HP Static High Performance Mode OS Control Mode HP recommends that this setting be changed to Static High Performance Mode 5
