2 av System Profile This HP Proliant BL460c G7, is a high quality, reliable, and very powerful blade server. It supports Quad and Hexacore Nehalem and Westmere Intel Xeon processors, and DDR3 1333Mhz RAM up to 384GB as well as out of the box 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Memory Mirroring Further enhancing system availability, is this Proliant s built in support for memory mirroring. This means that EuroVPS can install for example, 48GB DDR3 ECC memory within a system, but the memory will be mirrored. As a result, the memory which is available to the Operating System is 24GB however, the system can survive a complete failure of any DIMM module, or even more than 1 DIMM module without experiencing an NMI or irrecoverable error. Memory failure is not uncommon, and most downtime and subsequent filesystem corruption, customer complaints, or disasters which can result in loss of revenue stem from Memory Multi Bit Errors that could not be handled by ECC. 3 Storage Systems The HP Proliant BL460c G7, supports up to two internal SAS or SATA disks, with an integrated enterprise HP SmartArray P410i RAID Controller, with a 512MB Battery Backed Write Cache. Storage Systems It is possible to install up to two internal hotswap disks, as long as they are of the same type SATA or SAS. For example, two SSD disks can be installed and mirrored or striped, or two SAS 15,000RPM Enterprise class hard disks can be mirrored if capacity is more important than IOPS.
