The ROSATTE chain of value 26
Output of ROSATTE project» Complete framework to facilitate access, exchange and maintenance of spatial data from public sources including: multi-level national/regional/local aggregation Incremental updates of map data» Technical & organisational guidelines» Aligned with INSPIRE» Commitment for deployment 27

No driver quite like the ITS Directive! Optimal Use of Road, Traffic and Travel Data Road Safety and Security Continuity of Traffic and Freight Management Integration of Vehicle and Transport Infrastructure Data Protection and Liability European ITS Coordination
ITS Directive Area 1 Optimal Use of Road, Traffic and Travel Data 1. EU-wide real time travel information (public and private roles) 2. Collection and provision of road data 3. Accurate public data for digital maps 4. Free minimum information service 5. Promotion of multi-modal journey planners Recommendations: ROSATTE and INSPIRE Specification, organisation and framework TN-ITS Specification 31
Differences! ITS Directive/ROSATTE and INSPIRE:» Private/public owned data: IPR issues needs to be handled» Linear and location based referencing systems» Quality control» Maintenance of data» Feed back loop Still alignment is desirable! TN-ITS deployment platform (SDIC) to propose TN-ITS specifications as an extension to the TN specification
Conclusions» New TN-ITS specifications should extend the TN specifications to answer the needs of the ITS industry» The mapping industry is mostly interested in changes rather than full set of data» Leaving the mapping to the industry is not sustainable in the long term» Mapping industry is interest to collaborated if the Public Authorities accept to notify new changes» ITS map data is a must to increase road safety and sustainability
