Bed bug infestations are spreading across the United States at an unprecedented rate. And getting worse! PestPro was the first company in Vermont and Northern New York to offer Thermal Remediation for bed bugs, a state- of- the- art, single treatment process. Heat treating is 100% effective for all bed bugs, egg to adult. A perfect solution for Hotels, Motels, B&B s, Rental Properties, Time Shares, Nursing Homes, Dorm Rooms and Residential Homes The Thermal Remediation target temperature during treatment is between 120-135 F, the temperature necessary for heat to penetrate bed bug harborages. This safe, effective, and environmentally friendly process uses dry heat to kill the entire life cycle of bed bugs. 3 Keys to a Successful Heat Treatment: 1. Bring Heat. Electric bed bug heaters are placed within the space; introducing and re- circulating heated air with a target temperature not to exceed 135 F. 2. Monitor. Temperatures are monitored in real time from a remote location using wireless sensors to ensure lethal temperatures are reached. 3. Move Air. High temperature fans move heated air throughout the space to reach insects in cracks and crevices or high infestation

The picture in the center is the actual size of bedbugs, all life stages. Eggs and 1 st instar nymphs are on the black paper. Why heat treatment is better than traditional pesticide applications. 1. One treatment is all it takes to kill all phases of bed bugs, eggs, nymphs and adults. Pesticide applications require multiple visits. 2. Traditional treatments require pesticides applied to mattress, box spring, bed frame and all other cracks and crevices in bedrooms and infested areas. 3. Limited preparation required, heat will penetrate clutter, clothing, bedding and furniture. Pesticide treatments require extensive prep and laundering, chemicals will not penetrate all areas heat will. 4. Treated area may be re- occupied several hours after treatment. After the heat treatment is finished the bed bugs are dead! Not the case with a pesticide application, this is the reason for multiple applications. Heat treatment is the perfect application for heavy infestations and sensitive areas. Our certified Thermal Remediation staff will be glad to visit your facility to inspect and design a treatment plan. We also offer on- site training for your house keeping staff in bed bug identification and prevention.

Our Treatment Heat kills all stages of bed bugs, egg, nymph and adult. Bed bugs start to expire at 113 degrees. Typically a thermal treatment will take 6-10 hours. Expect to be out of your home for at least 10-12 hours for most treatments. Larger residences or those that have a lot of clutter increase cook time. Electronics, furniture, fabrics, upholstered and other tough to treat items are easily and safely treated with heat. All items subject to heat damage through melting, expansion or bursting must be removed from the site. Reduction of clutter is VERY IMPORTANT in reducing time on site and provides better results. No personal affects should be brought with you on the day of treatment. This includes un- heated clothing, purse, backpack, etc. A fresh outfit should be prepared (including shoes) by running items through a dryer for 30 minutes and place in sealed plastic bag. Consider infestation possibilities outside of your home. These would include friends, parents, work etc. These should be systematically eliminated to prevent re- infestation at a later date. Prepare to vacate the treated area until cool enough to return. This may take several hours depending on the substrate. Our Thermal Remediation treatment will also include a targeted pesticide application around the rooms perimeter, bed frame and other cracks and crevices. Insecticidal dusts will also be used inside electrical outlet boxes and switch plates.

Thermal Remediation Preparation Clutter impedes the effectiveness of a thermal so remove all clutter from closets, drawers and all around the house or apartment. Hot air is the insecticide- we need to move it everywhere. All floors must be vacuumed and clean. All trash and ash trays must be removed and emptied. Remove pets, birds, fish tanks, cats, snakes, etc Remove all house plants, put outside if temperature permits. Remove all waxes, crayons, candles, makeup, etc. Remove all alcohol, wine, beer, etc. (Place in Refrigerator) Place medicine in the fridge and take what you need with you. Put all plastic blinds all the way up - the heat will make them droop and become unusable. Remove all aerosol products - paint, hair spray, deodorizers, etc.. Remove all oils - cooking, motor, etc. They will expand and may leak. Remove all compressed gasses!!! Unplug all electronics, TV, computers, etc. The crew will be going into all the draws and closets so if there is anything that you don t want the crew to find or see please remove it!!!!

Any pictures will be taken down off the walls (bedbugs like to harbor in pictures). The pictures will not be hung back up, the temps will still be too hot and we do not want the frames to warp. They can be re- hung the next day. Please let the crew know about any oil painting you have! Please make sure that clothing hanging in the closets is not packed in too tight. There should be room between the clothes so that heat can penetrate all areas. All excess clothing must be washed and/or dried on high heat. Clothing must be bagged in heavy contractor trash bags, sealed and kept in kitchen or storage until treatment is completed. Mattress and box spring only per bed is acceptable. Multiple box springs or mattresses piled up will have to be removed prior to treatment. All beds need to be on frames. Cheap metal frames are perfect. Parking can be a problem because we come with 1 to 2 trucks (unmarked) and trailers. We ask that you talk to your friends, neighbors, and building super to help save parking. This saves us time and enables us to get your job done as fast as possible. We are sure that after all the prep you have done you would hate to see us be unable to do your thermal because we can t find parking in front of your house or apartment. If the prep is not done properly you will be charged $150.00 an hour with a 1 hour minimum for the crew to prep. If time does not allow for the thermal to be done because of the lack of prep you will be charged $300.00 to reschedule the treatment. *Failure to comply with all items on the prep list may result in NO GUARANTEE for the treatment.
