Visual Communications Assistant Certificate Program Description # 5831 This Visual Communications Assistant certificate provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communications problems with an emphasis on the technical skills required. The outcomes of this certificate would enhance the skills of those interested in entry-level positions as assistants in a variety of Visual Communications businesses including design firms, production houses, and in-house media groups. Specific commercial needs such as print design, Web design and interactive media productions will be stressed. With this certificate, students can also continue their education to specialize in industry areas such as Interactive Media, Digital Video, Photography, or Graphic Design. Career/Occupational Requirements 16 Total 16 3D Animation - Visual Communications Technologies continued Advanced 3D Animation Certificate Program Description # 5829 The Visual Communications Technologies program prepares students for a career field involving the delivery of messages in visual forms. This Advanced Certificate is intended for students enrolled in the Web Design major as well as other students, such as industry professionals, interested in gaining advanced 3D animation skills. Emphasis is on providing the valuable technical, concept, and design skills necessary for those wishing to obtain a position as a 3D animator in the visual communications industry. Visual Communications Assistant Certificate Photography- Visual Communications Technologies continued Program Description # 5831 This Visual Communications Assistant certificate provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communications problems with an emphasis on the technical skills required. The outcomes of this certificate would enhance the skills of those interested in entry-level positions as assistants in a variety of Visual Communications businesses including design firms, production houses, and in-house media groups. Specific commercial needs such as print design, Web design and interactive media productions will be stressed. With this certificate, students can also continue their education to specialize in industry areas such as Interactive Media, Digital Video, Photography, or Graphic Design. Career/Occupational Requirements 16 Total 16 General Requirements: 1. Diplomas: 31 to 48 earned college-level credits; one third of credits must be earned at Century College. AAS: At least 60 earned college-level credits (numbered 1000 or above). At least 20 credits must be earned at Century College. 2. Century college-level GPA of 2.0; Required career and occupational courses GPA of 2.0; MnTC GPA of 2.0. 3.
