A CHILD CARE PROVIDERS GUIDE TO THE CHILD CARE TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CCTAP) BEGINNING SUMMER 2012
Major Changes Beginning Summer 2012 Students may access an award calculator to determine eligibility and view a Fall/Spring award estimate Students must apply online EVERY semester/term (but only submit tax forms upon first application per academic year) CCTAP dates now cover all 365 days of the year (no break in coverage dates) If eligible, a CCTAP Certificate will be issued once the student s application is processed. This will contain the family s FULL CCTAP award (based on information submitted on the application) and may be divided between providers Invoices are now issued 5-6 weeks before the end of each semester/term (once credit loads have been verified). The invoice will contain the final award amount.
Award Calculator UW Students may determine if they meet basic eligibility requirements and view an award estimate for the Fall/Spring semesters. (Summer awards are $200 - $500) Students will be allowed 2 attempts at the calculator per academic year All students must complete an application to be considered for CCTAP funding (even if calculator displays ineligible status)

Application and Timeline 2012 2013 Academic Year A CCTAP application must be completed for EACH semester/term to be considered for an award Applications are available ONLINE ONLY and require a UW NetID and password. CCTAP Award Certificate If eligible, the Award Certificate will become available to student applicant once an application is processed The form will contain the student applicant s FULL family award for all eligible children and is based on information provided at time of application. The full award may be divided between providers at time of invoice. Student must immediately present this certificate to the provider to discuss a payment plan (keeping in mind that CCTAP payments are made at the end of the term) Does NOT need to be signed/returned to OCCFR

CCTAP Invoice CCTAP Invoices are issued after the UW final drop deadline (5-6 weeks before the end of each semester/term) once final credit loads can be verified. Please see the CCTAP Timeline for 2012-2013 dates. Students must then login to their online CCTAP account to access their invoice(s). (This is when student may split their award between two providers) Invoiced amounts may be different from the certificate amount if the student parent: Is not enrolled for the credit load specified in the application Splits the award between two providers Has changes to other eligibility factors Invoices cannot be paid if the student parent: Drops below part-time status at UW-Madison Student does not use child care for the minimum # of weeks per semester (10 weeks during Fall/Spring semesters and 3 weeks during Summer term) Submits a late or incomplete invoice

Additional Notes In order to receive a CCTAP payment, providers must be licensed (State of Wisconsin) and/or accredited (city/national) and have a W-9/W8-BEN on file with the Office of Child Care and Family Resources. Student and provider should discuss a payment plan as early as possible. Options Include: Provider may reduce weekly copay based on CCTAP contribution CCTAP recipient may be billed for entire cost of care and be reimbursed once CCTAP payment is made to provider If CCTAP payment results in a credit on recipient s account, difference must be reimbursed to student parent For more information, please visit the CCTAP webpage at occfr.wisc.edu/cctap.html
