Is DBA equivalent to an FPM/Ph.D.? What if I intend to switch to academics and teaching in the long run? Response Yes, DBA is equivalent to FPM/Ph.D. in terms of recognition. The DBA degree has wide acceptability among the top business schools in India and abroad; even Harvard Business School offers DBA and not a Ph.D. Is this DBA course accredited by the Indian universities, UGC /or AICTE? Admission Related Queries What is the GEM-IMT DBA programme design? Response The programme takes place in a two stagcompetent candidate can complete DBA within three years; however the cycle: stage one and stage two (please refer to the Brochure for more details). Any minimumm duration for the completion of the programme is 18 months. What are the eligibility criteria for the program? Response Candidates are required to hold a Master s degreee in any field of related discipline with minimumm five years of professional experience, or a bachelor s degree in any related discipline with a minimumm of seven years of professional experience. What is the duration of the course? Response Depending on the candidate s performance one can easily finish the programme within three years. However a minimum of 18 months is required for the completion of the programme. After the completion of the course, will the degree of Grenoble Ecole de Management, France, be awardedd or will the name of IMT will also be mentioned on the degree certificate? Response The degree will be awarded by Grenoble Ecole de Management, France. Additionally, a certificate will be awarded by IMT. (Not sure of second line) Page 2

I work abroad, am I eligible to apply for the programme? Response Yes, you can definitely apply for the programme. The best part of this program is that participants from across the world can apply. Even if during the course if this programme you get deputed to another country, you can still continue to pursue this course without any hindrances. Is there any separate admission procedure for NRI candidates? Response No, the admission process is same for all candidates. How can I pursue this course as I stay abroad? Response DBA program is a workshop based program. There are series of Five (5) research training workshops; out of which two (2) will be held in Grenoble, France and three (3) are conducted at IMT, Ghaziabad Campus. The average duration of the workshop is 4-5 days. Attending these workshops is compulsory. Your research work requires you to continually be in touch with your supervisor, which may be through face-to-face discussion or through Skype. What is the fee structure for the DBA programme? Response The fee structure is as follows: Year Payable to GEM Year 1 9,000 Year 2 8,000 Year 3 7,000 Total 24,000 The fee would be payable in Euros (as per prevailing market rate). The program can be extended to two years and the additional fee per year would be 5,000. Is there any financial assistance/scholarship offered for the DBA program? Response No, there is no policy of scholarships to be offered for the DBA Program Does the amount mentioned covers the fees and travel (and/or lodging) in France for the workshops? Response The travel and residency cost are separate and are to be borne by the DBA candidate. How many times would I be required to visit IMT Ghaziabad during the program? Response You will be required to visit IMT Ghaziabad a maximum of three times for the workshops. Can IMT help in arranging the residential facility in order to attend the workshop, as we are new to the place? Response Yes, IMT can facilitate the same. Candidates may opt to stay at the IMT guest house. Would IMT be able to facilitate study visas to India? Response Yes, as per the rules of the Indian and French governments IMT can render a helping hand in getting the Visa to India. What is the support provided by IMT and GEM in conducting research? Response GEM and IMT represent a pool of highly qualified professors. Each DBA candidate is assigned a fully qualified and research active professor from either IMT or GEM. What will be the assessment and examination pattern (year wise/semester wise)? Response A candidate for the degree of Doctorate of Business Administration is required to demonstrate ability to conduct original investigations, to test, apply and examine ideas his/her own or others, and to understand the relationship of his/her theme to a wider field of knowledge. This is tested through a rigorous evaluation process consisting of the following: Stage I Four pieces of work must be produced: A Project Proposal (1500 words) A comprehensive Literature Review of publishable standards (7,500 words) A Research Proposal (7,500 words): fully justified research question and hypotheses, intended methodology, pilot test study and expected results; A DBA thesis Research Plan and Scheduling Stage 2 Thesis Evaluation by the Thesis Committee Will there be any course materials provided to us and how we will receive them? However, the final decision on the eligible stage for you in the DBA program can be taken on a case-to-case basis, depending upon the intensity of the work already completed.
